Im a long time Floyd fan and i really dont like this fight, just doesnt interest me and doesnt do much for Floyd if he wins

I understand with the court case and sentencing coming up he has a limited time frame and he cant tip toe negotiating for weeks to a month because he doesnt have time on his side

i guess he was looking for anybody passable who would not block negotiations

Guerrero fits the bill, fringe elite, needs a big money fight, nothing to lose here

its funny how Guerrero has hovered around boxing for so many years but never quite made his splash

i do believe if the legal **** hadnt popped up he woulda got a better fight for May

I'm still hoping for Cotto, or by some miracle of course Pacquiao. Would take Canelo over Ghost, although I'd rather see Floyd-Canelo in 2013.
But, Sergio was available the entire time and it would have garnered universal respect for Floyd had he taken that fight.

Wait until its confirmed before you get all worked up.

Remember Arum had is writers throwing out articles saying PBF was going to fight Mathew Hatton and that dumb ass ellerbe even said something stupid like it would be a good fight.

Floyd wants a fight that will sell well, guerrero is a garbage fight. Everyone hes fought has just come off a big win. Cotto seems more likely especially now that he A- came off a big win and B is out of his contract with Arum

    My preferred choices in order

    1a) martinez (160; 154)
    1b) pac (147)
    2) cotto (154)
    3) alvarez (154)
    4) winner of berto v ortiz 2 (147)
    5) senchenko (147)
    6) peterson
    7) bradley
    8) marquez

Each of those I'd genuinely prefer over guerrero who isn't proven above LW (and even there it's to a guy just beaten by ricky burns)

So its okay for Mayweather to fight a lightweight for a second time at welterweight but its not okay for Martinez to fight a welterweight at lightmiddleweight? Good analogy :good

Good luck to the people that will be buying this ****! And also to the people who will be buying the Pac vs Peterson/Bradley scam.

People need to stop jock riding a Canelo fight. The ONLY reason he is in the mix is he would help make it sell BIG. Nothing more. This is a 21yo JrMW who won his belt by beating a low ranked WW FFS.

This although I would pit Bradley at 5 who has a win over Peterson, and Senchenko I haven't seen him fight before so don't know how good of a fight that is.

It'd be a crap fight but it would unify some belts (although he already beat mosley for the belt anyways)

Brad, he's been a ***** lately so I don't wanna see him rewarded

    No, Cotto's a free agent.

The answer though, is that pretty much anyone would be better than Guerrero.

Cotto said Bob Arum will always be his promoter. He aint fighting Floyd without Bob in his corner. Count Cotto out it aint happening.

I still think its funny that so many think Floyd can fight at 154. Canelo and Martinez are too big. And 10oz gloves? No thanks. Why would Floyd give them the upperhand and come in at a disadvantage? Makes no sense. Those fights aint that big sorry. Plus he can get away with paying Guerrero less. Guerrero will recieve major support because of his personality n backround n because hes mexican baby. Dont give me that crap he aint a draw. Its a mayweather fight n everyone loves to tune in. Especially the latinos in full support of a well spoken, bilingual humble confident fighter like Guerrero

Yeah, why would Mayweather ever take a fight he wasn't guaranteed to win? I mean, that wouldn't make sense.

This whole Latino support thing is BS. Guerrero couldn't even build a fanbase in an area that's half Mexican, he's never fought in Mexico, and the thing that's most Latino about him is his last name.

It would be a crap fight, and there's really no other way to spin that.

Maybe he should fight Orlando Salido instead. He beat Guerrero, is a real Mexican and is ranked #2 in his weight class. :tired
