The opinions from the tyson v tillis in 90 provides some interesting comments so in this I ask which 2 fighters in 90 would have had in your opinion the greatest chance of defeating tyson apart from Douglas of course?. It as to be 2 guys who were actually in the division at that "time". Who in your mind had the ability to pull off the upset of the decade?
Excluding Foreman (who Cus Damato warned Tyson about), Holyfield maybe was the only one with the mindset to pull off, being he had been competitive with Tyson in amateur sparring, and didn't like the way Tyson "disrespected" him back their amateur days.
I think holy field name springs to mind straight away. I think if Douglas hadn't have happened then this would have been seen as potentially tyson hardest fight. Tyson though I believe would have taken this fight a lot more seriously than buster. He wouldn't have skipped training and been in best condition of his career. I think he respected him and would have got in with a different mind set. Whenever that would have worked at that point against holy I don't know. Foreman of course as u pointed out was another option, really don't know what tyson s opinion of foreman was at that time, whenever he thought George was a easy ko or if he felt intimidated.
Ruddock could have done it against the Tokyo Tyson.pushing it Garry mason? Big punch great chin good jab.maybe Mercer hadn't had much experience at that point but knowing what Ray was like he would have been interesting.
Lennox Lewis, Riddick Bowe, David Tua, Ibeabuchi, and numerous other boxers would knock Tyson out no matter what year it was.
Good answer. when Holyfield fought Douglas, he assumed that he was up against the Douglas of Tokyo, and prepared accordingly. The only problem was that he did not have a target worthy of his fight plan!
Anyone could have beaten tyson from buster fight because tyson didnt give a damn. Tyson in shape and motivated would have ktfo all the above mention.
