Who else feels '11 Adamek would be tuff as nails for '53 Marciano? I sure as hell do.

I see it being a tear up for 4 or 5 rounds which Marciano taking alot of facial damage and Adamek being grinded down in terms of strength over the course of those 5 rounds.. it then continues this way and leads to Rocky flooring him, Adamek gets up and gets badly stopped on his feet IMO.

There is far too much emphasis on size on ESB. It gets mentioned in every fantasy match up and, sometimes, it is relevant but in fights like this, it just isn't because of the physical attributes involved on both sides. Adamek could be 240lbs but he still has big disadvantages against Marciano. Size is actually interesting though in this case because cruiserweight Adamek has a better chance.

Adamek now, is too slow. I know Marciano was not lightning fast but to beat him, you need good movement and speed, unless you're going to 'Foreman/Frazier' him. Adamek couldn't do that and since putting on additional muscle, he lacks the speed and agility to outbox Marciano.

I think he probably boxes well for a couple of rounds because Marciano was usually slow to find a pattern which suits him. After he gets in gear, he stops Adamek quick. He'd land big shots too often and would put Adamek down for the count in the mid rounds.

Just want to point out that Joe Louis had similar size advantages over Marciano as Adamek would have. And he had a much better jab. Yes, Joe Louis was old but he was still ranked as the 2nd best hw of the world and came into the fight with a very good winning streak over better opponents than Adamek even fought at hw.
    Just something to think about.

That´s nothing against Adamek. I´m a fan. He´s probably the only active fighter I consider myself a fan. A true throwback to the old times where lhws would step up to fight the big boys. Huge heart, decent skills. Hope he does well.

Obviously the argument to tge Louis win is his age, but even at that point in his caterer, he was a better fighter than Adamek currently is. I don't really think that should be up for debate.

If it's all about size, then I presume you think Adamek gets stopped by Buddy and Max, Carnera, Willard etc.?

Size is one thing. It's just one attribute. Despite the size disadvantage Marciano has, he still hits harder, has a better chin, more stamina, more elusive, better puncher and much more, yet because he is the smaller man by 20 odd pounds, he would lose? It's too basic of an argument.

words cannot describe the hellacious beating marciano would bestow upon adamek. who is feather fisted at HW and has poor defense. those two factors alone would be the downfall of adamek in this matchup. marciano by brutal knockout in the 6th, after adamek tasting the canvas twice.

Come on. The Louis version of Marciano fight was the worst of Louis. He was slow and Marciano was able to utilize his skill and power. Louis was there only for paycheck.

When fighting Adamek, Marciano would have faced a good fighter in his prime, who is much bigger than him (4 inches in height, 8 inches in reach and 30 pounds in weight). I wouldnt say that Marciano couldnt have won it, but it would have been the new challange for him. You all have right when say that Marciano's stamina was great, while Adamek looks like he is tired at the end of the fight. However you forget that Adamek is fighting much bigger boxers now (60-80 pounds heavier than Marciano) and he must be in a constant movement. In the Adamek-Marciano fight, it would have been Adamek who would have fought from backfoot, using his jab and size advantages. Marciano must have been moving a lot in order to land the punch.

As I said in my first post, I dont like these Adamek vs ATG threads
