    Could you elaborate.

Holyfield fought and beat tougher competition top to bottom than any of these three

Who are the best men (other than Ali in Frazier's case) any of these three beat.

    Liston--Patterson

    Frazier--probably Ellis

    Foreman--Frazier (on the downslope)

As for Vitali, Frazier and Liston never proved at all that they could beat someone that big who was also good, and Foreman's stamina issues in the 1970's raise issues about how well he would do.

Vitali was a flop in an historical sense, but head to head I think he would do very well.

Janitor I would say Vitali is in the discussion by virtue of his longevity.

Few have longevity required for this discussion but he is one of them.

Does he really have the longevity though?

He took a long period out due to injury, which has to be factored in, and he didn't actually fight that many top ten guys.

His period of activity against top 10 rated opposition, is 1999-2004, and 2008-2011.

Ali had a long period out as well, so did Louis, so did Tyson.

Only really Lewis, Johnson, Holmes and Wlad have been consecutively top level for so long.

I am not afraid to say as I feel and yea you can add Marciano's name to it, i know you meant it to be wise but you could never be wise

This makes more sense to me having seen the way the relatively big Foreman at the time bounced Joe around like a jack in the box. To be honest I think a squat lighter guy coming straight at Lewis or Vlad would be like manna from heaven for them. Easy KO's within 3 rounds max.

I see more problems with Liston or George for those 2 than Joe.

These two are the only ones that could do that... I like Holmes, Holyfield as well.
