I hate Floyd. He is a horrible human being. He is a scumbag. He is an ego maniac.

    BUT!

He is also the most talented fighter in the world and is a terrible, terrible stylistic nightmare for Hatton.

This fight will be very onesided. Unfortunately. 24/7 aint gonna change that.

I got no problem with somone picking hatton as long as you are not one of those morons that is basing your prediction on pictures of hatton or videos of him hitting bags.

'Hate' and 'scumbag' are a little strong.

I don't much care for the dude either, but it's more sympathy than hate.
(Why the #1 p4p would need sympathy is another story !)

Kostya would have taken Ricky, but for the Ricky tactics he was allowed to employ in their fight.

If he's given that license again, he can 'beat' Floyd.

Given that this will be fought in a different location with a real ref, Ricky doesn't have much chance.

The thing that sticks in my mind were the middle rounds against Tszyu where once Tszyu realised he was getting tired, he started getting space and was able to hit Hatton pretty easily. Those were Tsyzu's best rounds until his stamina faded badly and Hatton was able to get inside again.

I want Hatton to win, but I can see Mayweather doing exactly what Tszyu was doing for those rounds ... except for the entire fight and with many more punches.

I hope all the retirement talk coming out of Mayweather means he turns up slightly unmotivated. Hatton has a smart camp around him, they wouldn't have taken the fight unless they truly thought they could him so I hope they've seen something in Mayweather that they can exploit.

Let's just hope for a close entertaining fight! Worst case scenario is when it's a one sided blow-out.

Gaotrage - I wonder how much Tszyu's stamina dipped when he recieved the most blatant unpenalised foul since Duran Buchanon? He was indeed fighting back and had he gotten credit for that legit knockdown with the uppercut on the beltline, it would have made for a much more interesting fight.

Still - Tszyu has too much class to complain about that so I wont go too far.

When I hear on boxrec.com that Joe Cortez has been named ref - I think that does improve Hatton's chances much more than if Nady was a ref.

Cortez does let inside mauling fights go more than Nady. So I guess it does bode BETTER for Hatton.

I still see Floyd matadoring his way to victory.

I always said if this fight happened I would pick Hatton , and I still do belive that he can win based on his style and his will and determination , Look at the Kostya fight no 1 gave him and chance and thought he would get Ko'ed ,because he gets hit alot , But he showed his toughness and fought very smart , call it wrestling or whatever but that was the perfect fight plan he could've used.

If hatton can get close to to Floyd , he will beat his arm , shoulder , body, whatever is there Hes not going to head hunt , he knows better than that, and if floyd is really having shoulder hand problem ...then THATS A BIG PROBLEM..problem for hatton is if he is capable of closing the gap on Floyd? I think he can and will.

    Hey doomeddisciple,

I agree with you, had the fight been reffed properly it would have been a very interesting last few rounds. I thought it was a legit knock-down by Tszyu, Hatton certainly didn't act like it was low ... and Hatton's low-blow in the ninth should have caused at minimum a one-point deduction. Two extra points to Tszyu, I think he would have come out for the twelfth round.

But that's all hypothetical at this point, I remember that as a dirty fight that Tszyu fought stupidly in more than Hatton fighting brilliantly. The stamina issue was already apparent before the low blow in the ninth, I think Tszyu having spent too much time wrestling in the early rounds was the problem.

So back to Mayweather vs Hatton :
I brought up the Tszyu fight because of those middle rounds. Hatton does get hit easily and Mayweather will not fade like a 35 year old Tszyu in his last fight.

I just hope for a great fight. I want Hatton to get to Mayweather. Then it will get interesting. Otherwise we will spend twelve rounds watching Hatton get jabbed to death.

I thought at first that Mayweather picked the easiest fight possible by bringing up a 140 pd. fighter for his fight after DLH. Now i think it is very brave. Castillo brought Mayweather closest to defeat and Hatton is Castillo doubled in tenacity, conditioning, and heart. Hatton fights on the inside, frustrates your game by clinching, pushing, and elbowing his way in. Hatton has a bigger chance than dlh against mayweather in that he fights for his life. Mayweather should take this very seriously.

Hatton has a smaller body, smaller brain, smaller skillset, and smaller wealth of experience. But...yeah...he has a bigger chance...:!:
