To say that so much is made of Floyd's chin being shaky, he was only kod in the first, yes it was twice, by the same guy. Despite him fighting so long, it only happened at the hands of Liston. So if Floyd faced every lineal champ right up to Fury, who'd you put money on to replicate Sonny?
Several could do it: Foreman Cleveland Williams Tyson Bowe Even Lyle and Shavers have a chance. Of course half aren't champions.
I don't say they would but possibles would include,Dempsey,Tyson,Foreman,C Williams, Morrison,Wilder,Lewis,Joshua I don't say they would but,Dempsey,Tyson,Foreman,Frazier are possibles ,imo
Agree with all the above picks ( and their are loads ! ) were does Floyd stand in the pantheon of past HW champs ? We know he was no where near the top, so is the poor chap now in the , Willard, Sharkey, Carnera bracket curtesy of the above and poor ( very poor ) title contenders ? keep well.
Id put money on Tyson and Demps putting Floyd at least down for definitely in the first. Such fast starters and powerful hitters. Floyd would under such pressure. Not sure he gets out the first against Foreman either. Joe was a slower starter I'll say, but even so he's still murderous.
If we're talking Lineal Champions aside from Liston? George Foreman Mike Tyson I don't see any other Heavyweight Champions being able to stop in the first round even if they could beat him.
I bet my man Sanders could do it. A smallish heavyweight with an iffy chin looking to mix it up early?
Very few I suspect. Only one other man in history, has stopped the current man of the division, inside one round. That man (Mike Tyson), might be a decent shout on that alone. I will answer that question. He was nowhere near the top, but he was nowhere near the bottom either. He has some very impressive career statistics.
where do I begin! Larry Holmes, Gerry Cooney, and Mike Tyson for starters. Just about any world class heavyweight 6 - 5 and over
