So much so that he wants to do it again! Great, another 12 rounds of BHop holding, fouling, faking low blows...............I guarantee he'd sink to new lows just to try and get the win. BHop is a great fighter but ''a vile human being''. Good on Joe for basically telling him to get stuffed re. a rematch.
Yawn. Whenever I read your posts it is painfully obvious that you are an internet warrior who hasn't actually seen any of the fights in question ever. Get your hands off of mouse and *****, and go watch some dvd's. :hi:
I bet he could have had a rematch if he hadnt had been such a graceless ******* after the fight and had actually tried to fight instead of hug when he had his chance vs Joe.
This is a debate which will never have an ending, as they are two viewpoints on boxing that can never be reconciled. Some people value QUANTITY (activity, workrate, aggression, statistics). Some people value QUALITY (solely focused on the number of clean, flush, significant punches landed, and who believe QUANTITY when nullified by defence is actually a point AGAINST the higher activity fighter because they value defence and see being nullified as a negative). I am strongly in favour of the second view on scoring fights, always have been and always will be, but both views are out there and both views are valid. On fight night, 2 of the judges were of the first view, as are most of the people on this forum. Fair enough.
Yup. He's a real piece of work. He humiliates Pavlik then tries to give him advice like he gives a damn.
Some people value honesty, integrity and fighting fairly. Some people think it is acceptable to headbutt, hold and fake low blows to win a fight. You obviously belong in the second category too.
LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLL I love how livid you get over people ridiculing you. On the subject, no one truthfully scored in Hopkins favour, its impossible to legitimise Hopkins thrashing against a SMW, he did much better than expected, but those tactics were all he could use, you can tell by the final bell Joe knew he won, and Hopkins knew he lost. 230+ punches landed prove Joe won, and look at Hopkins inbetween round 9 and 10... he was nearly out, lucky for him cortez was a fan and gave him his 5 min rest, didn't deduct a point for constant holding and butting... but it didn't change the result, calzaghe slogged him one. Oh and yes Hopkins landed cleaner shots... until round 4 and onwards.
I remember watch the fight I thought it was boring both fighters did not fight well. I had it down as a draw. It was Vegas it favoured B Hop nad he failed to take the advantage. B hop is an outstanding boxer one of the best never been stopped, but ther has been those few occasion with Jermain Taylor, Calzaghe, Jones. When he has been a bit flat and that's whats cost those loss marks on his record
Some people couldn't give a **** about honesty and integrity when scoring a fight. They're called judges. But since you've brung up honesty and integrity (you're really going to wish you didn't), cast your biased little eyes over these little beauties... Page 16, Boxing Monthly, October 2008 issue An interesting quotation from a September 2006 interview with Mick Gill: "I'm not really interested in a Roy Jones fight any more because the guy's shot. He was a great fighter but not any more... Roy's resistance has gone now. After I beat Lacy, Showtime pleaded with me not to touch Roy Jones". p300 "No Ordinary Joe: The Autobiography of Joe Calzaghe" by Joe Calzaghe and Brian Doogan - "I have no interest any more in Roy Jones and no interest in Antonio Tarver. Jones is washed up and Tarver was never that good anyway, he just caught Jones when Jones was shot and Johnson did the same." Antonio Tarver TKO2 Roy Jones Jr, 15/05/2004 Glen Johnson KO9 Roy Jones Jr, 25/09/2004 Joe Calzaghe v Roy Jones Jr, 8/11/2008 Yes, that is true honesty and integrity. :smoke
