    Due to circumstances.

You can use stats to criticise Roy all you like, but if you followed his career, he always moved up when he couldn't get the fights he wanted, or to challenge himself. That's a fact.

When he won the MW title against Bernard, he was 24, and he wanted the biggest money fights out there. He was inpatient because it'd taken him so long to get to the top. So he moved up to fight Toney. Now a guy who wanted to avoid any sort of a challenge, simply wouldn't have done that. After he'd beaten Toney, he tried to fight Liles. But Liles wasn't interested. Liles' own manager confirmed he blew the fight by being too greedy at the last moment. A Benn fight was also hard to make due to King wanting future options, which Roy and his handlers, the Levin brothers, didn't want to agree to. It was boxing politics. Now at that stage, Roy could have just remained at SMW, where he could have racked up a number of IBF title defences. But he didn't. When he couldn't unify with Benn and Liles, he moved up to LHW.

At LHW, he faced the majority of the top 10 guys who were there. But he couldn't fight Dariusz, as he wouldn't go to Germany, and Dariusz wouldn't go to the U.S. But HBO pulled out all of the stops to try and get Dariusz to travel, which he said he was willing to do. Now after he couldn't get Dariusz, he turned his attention to a rematch with Bernard at a 168 C-W. Now I can show your links with various HBO execs, who say that Bernard wouldn't fight Roy for $6m, because he was demanding $10m. So despite what you claim, Roy and his team tried to fight Liles, Dariusz and Bernard. When Roy couldn't get those fights, he then moved up to fight Ruiz. Granted, Ruiz wasn't Ali. But if Roy had a pathetic chin and he was a 34 year old LHW who didn't want tough fights, then why on earth did he take the fight?

Roy did want the best available.

It's a complete myth that he took the path of least resistance.

I am not asking you to 'debate' me. You seem to always ignore when people show you evidence of Roy's ridiculous demands, his outright lies, and his reluctant ducking behavior. We all saw what happened when Jones started fighting the top competition at LHW he was either knocked out or schooled on the scorecards.

Roy Jones was 180 when he beat Hopkins, so he likely could have competed at Light Heavyweight at any stage of his career.

I think he outboxes Ward, Kovalev outboxed Ward.

The question is what about the X-Factor guys who can hurt him. Kovalev, Stevenson, Beterbiev, and Gvdozdyk. I can't see him facing all four of these guys and not suffering a knockout loss.

    Who did he avoid?

And I'm not asking you who he didn't end up fighting, I'm specifically asking you who he avoided.

    I'll wait.

    I'd say underrated, not overrated.

Most of these guys need to rewatch his career to see how special he was at his best.

    It is not well documented.

    Again: It's a myth.

Not fighting guys, and not wanting to fight them, are 2 entirely different things.

He didn't fight a legit opponent for 10 years?

    Ha!

You ridicule him for not fighting Dariusz, but if Roy didn't fight a legit opponent for 10 years, who did Dariusz fight?

Keep these hate posts coming, and I'll keep smashing them out of the park.

    I've got all night.

Darius beat Hill who was Roy's 'best' win in that specified time frame before Roy did. There is one example. Now go take your medicine.

The only reason you're saying this is due to your hatred of the man.

Look at his hand speed, power, variation and reflexes etc.

Of course he'd have had a chance.

Andre had Sergey looking devoid of ideas in the second half of their fight.

Roy's speed would have presented him and Andre with huge problems.

Don't care what he looked like against the mediocre fighters he fought for the majority of his LHW reign. He isn't going to look the same against an ATG. He isn't going to be clowning in the ring against Bob Foster or Mike Spinks because if he did that Glass Jaw would be getting shattered. What Roy did against Hall, Frazier, Kelly, Grant, Telesco, etc is irrelevant.

Kovalevs best win is 50 year old Hopkins. Joe Smith knocked the same Hopkins outa the ring.

Jones beat Hopkins when he was in his prime. Kovalevs other best win is Cleverly. Jones would beat Clevery no problem.

Who else did Kovalev beat? Cholemba , Pacsal , Agnew , Caparello?? Roy mops the floor with those guys.

Roy never went through his entire division and neither did Kovalev. He never even went through half of it and Ward likely wont either.
    Nobody ever clears entire divisions.

Question is whether Roy would be tog dog today? Would he? Probably.
