burns i think has been forced by his management to give up his title and move up i weight.

Its an interim title right now, but if JMM beats Pac he'll give up his lightweight titles straight away probably, so it'll be the full title. JMM could give up the title before then or he could retire after fighting Pacquiao. Whatever happens, Burns won't be fighting JMM any time soon.

 

I didn't notice this fight had been arranged until today and when I saw it I initially thought it was a mistake. It just seems crazy to put a guy who is as flawed as Burns in with someone like Katsidis. We all know Katsidis has his limitations but a fighter like Burns is always going to be tailor made for him. Burns is physically weak, and will be a lot weaker than Katsidis, he has no punch and doesn't know how to use his range. It is a stylistic mismatch. Katsidis always manages to get to fighters at some point, no matter how good they are, and he won't have too much trouble getting to Burns. When he does, it won't last long.

I agree with the people who think Wank has thought this out.

Realistically its win win for Wank. Burns is clearly beatable and Katsidis is a horror style for him imo. Add to that Katsidis being stronger, hitting much harder than anything Burns has felt and you have to think that Wank has thought about all of that and has considered the possibility to Katsidis (who is genuine world class) walking through Burns. If that happens, Katsidis vs Mitchell II is easy to make. I think Katsidis has his number though because Mitchell cannot take his shots and Katsidis was smart enough to use footwork to get close to Mitchell and then short compact shots when he was there. He completely neutralised Mitchells defence, which is based on lateral movement and ducking/weaving by getting close without throwing shots and then unloading up close.

Katsidis is my favorite active fighter and has been for a while.

Burns simply does not have the power to keep him off.

Totally obvious Frank is setting this up for Mitchell/Katsidis 2

 

After a year of awful opponents, everyone knows that Ricky Burns needed to step up. Katsidis is the best opponent that gives Frank the best options. I don't think Burns has much chance personally but we'll see. It'll help sell a few subs though :deal

 

What I find funny is that ****** is clearly planning on Mitchell fighting the winner, which will be Katsidis.

This will mean that Katsidis will have come to these shores four times against three different fighters beaten them all and taken a massive chunk of cash out of Allegedlys pocket and probably scored 4 knockouts along the way. ****** really needs to get some options on Katsidis.

Im not sure why Katsidis everytime does he have some sort of vendetta to beat him because he has battered two of his fighters already.

 

MK is a class operator but please beleive me the public haven't seen the best of Burns yet and the best will beat MK, one fight at a time but what a great fight Kevin v Ricky would be for a world title :good

I'd love to see Ricky win this, really, really would, just don't see how he can.

 

With the fullest of repect mate your talking pish mate,size wise there wont be alot in it on the night and the extra poundage will benifit Burns 100%,remember MK took 2 or 3 attempts at the scales against RG,
And please dont underestimate Rickys punching power but most of all his speed.We seriously have issues in the UK with people who achieve something never ever understood why?atsch
