Who else thinks Fury was probably lucky that the Haye fight didn't happen?

At this point I'm wondering if Haye might not have cracked fatso's chin.

If Haye really went for it like he did vs Chisora then yes he would've had a chance vs green Fury who was getting floored and hurt vs the likes of Pajkic, Cunningham.

But after seeing Haye run away and fight scared vs another giant in Wladimir, that doesn't fill me with much confidence in all honesty.

I don't believe David Haye is the one to change boxing history. I rather believe he would improve Tyson Fury's resume.

    Ridiculous assertion.

He ran for his life all 12 against w
    Wlad... A heartless performance.

Against Fury, especially much older, he would run for his life again, except his legs aren't as good anymore and gets stopped late.

Even in their primes, Fury wins easy.

Haye was crap, and hugely overrated by his crappy fans. I hated when he was active. You'd always have idiots praising his paper thin CW resume, and giving him all sorts of chances against far superior opposition. When Bellew chinned him and did it a second time was karma coming home to roost.

I loathe Fury now, but that doesn't change the fact that he's demonstrably the superior fighter, and would likely have flattened Haye, maybe in a bit of a wild shootout with a KD or two. There's no way he would have been KOed by Haye. Put on his arse sure, but that would have only fired him up to gun for the stoppage.

Haye was certainly a big favourite going into the fight. It was seen somewhat of a cherry pick at the time. Fury was just about getting through British level opposition without looking great.

    2013 Haye vs 2013 Fury

Hypothetical: Haye doesn’t pull out twice claiming injuries after getting verbally dominated at the press conference and the fight goes ahead in September.

    - 32 vs 25

    - 6’2 vs 6’7.5

    - 210 lbs vs 254 lbs

    - Beat Valuev and Chisora vs beat Cunningham and Chisora

    - 1 win streak vs 21 win streak

    - 26-2 (lost to Thompson and Wlad) vs 21-0

    - Inactive in the previous 14 months, including appearances on “I’m a Celebrity” vs 4 fights in the previous 17 months and the most motivated he’d ever been

    - Former heavyweight titlist vs future heavyweight champion
