Calzaghe showed no power at all against Hopkins- he won't be landing at will like he did against Lacy either. If he fights the same way as he did last time he will lose IMO
I was impressed with RJJs performance against Tito and as much as I would like to see JC win feel that Jones might dazzle against a powerless JC tomorrow.

I give Jones more of a chance than many but I still think Calzaghe will.

It's possible and I am rooting for him but at the end of the day I think Calzaghe's workrate will get him a decision.

calzaghe is going to find it relatively easy to score imo. RJJ in his prime was insanely difficult to tag due to his physical gifts, his amazing footspeed and reflexes that got him out of the way of his opponents attacks.

his reflexes have worn away and his legs don't go anywhere these days. even slow, pudgy, out of the ring for two years tito was finding the mark on RJJ.

Jones waits to figure his opponents out and imo that will hurt him. Especially when Calzaghe is throwing 80 punches a round and you're only throwing 30 punches a round. Hanshaw was able to land more than 100 punches against Roy Jones, but lets be honest, Joe Calzaghe is no Anthony Hanshaw.

Everybody is focusing too much on their last fights. Jones fought Tito who was undersized, out of shape and how ever many years out of the ring. Of course he looked good (relatively speaking). Calzaghe fought Hopkins who was slick, crafty, countered and held, and effectively smothered the effectiveness of Joe's flurries maiking him look less effective than we have come to expect.

Go back a few more fights though if you want a better view of what will happen. Jones has not beaten a top lightheavy in years. The two before Tito went the distance and were not particularly awe inspiring performances.

Then look at Calzaghe. Manfredo was crap (relatively speaking) but he dominated him nonetheless. Kessler was very strong, very well schooled and a unified champ - Calzaghe fought fantastically in that fight.

Roy isn't active enough, nor does he attempt to finish the job when he gets the other guy hurt. He will get outworked.

Calzaghe likes to rush in and try and make a statement. He might get caught early, might even be dropped, but he will then learn and dominate the rest of the fight.

That is my humble opinion anyway.

I feel Roy will show us why he is the master.

Roy does not need to be as active as Calzaghe. Roys skill and natural talent will be showcased in this fight. Originally I thought Joe would just be too much for him. But the more I think about it, only a fool would write off the most gifted fighter to ever put boxing gloves on.....
Joe is extremely intelligent and has remained undefeated for so long due to his intelligence and workrate.....
Tommorow night will be the first time in Joes career that he will face an opponent much smarter than him.....Hopkins in my opinion is Joes equal in terms of intelligence.......Roy Jones has no equal in this regard

Thats the reason, why this is a missmatch. But the Calzaghe nuthuggers will tell us how godlike JC is in beating RJJ.:tired

RJJ is nothing more, than a LH-Top10. He is a name, but nothing more. Neutral boxing fans give a **** about a Calzaghe win.

I can understand many of you giving Jones some decent chances - I was like that also sometimes just like when I felt Tyson might just beat Lewis despite the odds saying otherwise.

    But I got wiser.

Jones will get beat up by Calzaghe. He will make it slightly competitive until about round 7 onwards when Jones starts to lay on the ropes like he's been in a 40 round fight yet Calzaghe is just beginning to break a sweat.

Just not feeling it. As much as I would like to see it, I cannot see it happening.

Joe will win and clearly. As the fight nears Im actually leaning more towards the possibility Joe stops him, before I thought Joe would do what he needed to and no more because it sounds like his last fight.

But I would love to be proven wrong...

Calzaghe doesn't need to land at will. If he's throwing punches then Jones just stands around and covers up. If Calzaghe throws one punch at a time then he will get countered, but he typically throws with volume so expect to see Roy's guard an awful lot.

Yes. I have a feeling throughout this fight I will be shouting 'for fu#cks sake Roy, throw some punches'.
