sat there aggravated wondering why this shite was being broadcast

I would have been just as happy with Lara vs Angulo and Lopez vs Maidana those two for Showtime would have been enough.

Also on HBO Gamboa showed us why none of us should really care about seeing him fight until he fights someone with the ability to blast him to bits.

I was horribly bored with the Gamboa fight. I don't really know why, because Ive seen other "boring" or slow fights with fighters i'm more interested in, and I would just focus more on the science-y aspects of the fight. But Gamboa just had me painfully bored. And his previous fight did the same. I want 50 cent to do well in boxing and Im a HBO guy over Showtime but I won't be watching him again.

You weren't forced to watch them. Nobody stopped you from changing the channel. I'm glad they were televised as opposed to not being televised.

But I agree they were very boring and HBO matchmakers need to demand more from Gamboa. Farenas was acceptable due to the layoff and with the hopes of having a big fight next. But he followed that up with a less meaningful opponent. No good...

Gamboa is not an A level fighter. The guy is a suped up Berto. Very little adaptability and just tries to beat people with his superior athleticism. He will get KOed one of these days.

Used to think Gamboa had some talent. Maybe he still does, but keep fighting like that and nobody will pay to see you. After all, boxing is showbiz and if you are boring the crap out of people they will stop paying to see you and you will be nowhere

I was at the Home Depot and knew the Hopkins fight had the potential of being a stinker. It obviously was one.

Luckily, Berto and Soto Karass almost got into it right by us. Then, some other knuckleheads joined the fray. Overall, crowd watching got me through the first 6-7 rounds.

i expected d. hopkins to stink up the his fight, not gamboa.

i watched the first 4 of gamboa, switched to showtime for a couple of rounds, it was not any better, went back to gamboa fight hoping he'll turn it up but....:verysad
