Anyone? Sure he lost, but THURMAN might be the goods, 1 of the top prospects in boxing and soon a top WELTER. ChAvez was doing really well, beating Keith early and looking good. He is not a crude slugger wit power. Good technical skills, good power, essentially a boxer puncher. Him against Ortiz,Ghost,Khan, Malinaggi would all be competitive fights... Want to see more of him, hope he gets more big fights. He showed out well...
He definitely impressed me. After the way he looked against Omar Weis, I didn't think he was capable of the type of performance he put up last night. Even in defeat, he showed a very good skill set. I look forward to seeing him again.
Yeah. Diego Chaves Vs. Johan Perez would be a good battle of the slicksters at 147lbs. Good technical fight. Malignaggi has slightly better movement, speed while Chaves has good reflexes and better power, awkwardness. Would love to see it. Slight edge to Malignaggi.
Very impressed this guy is the real deal even in defeat and would give anyone at 147 hell with the exception of PBF.
Thurmans a beast, gotta rate Chaves for that performance. Him and Berto should be made for the undercard of knockout kings 3
very highly skilled. it's a shame that he had to be matched so tough in his first fight in the u.s. hopefully they bring him back. he can beat a lot of the guys at 147.
Very impressed. What shocked me was that he had the superior hand speed and reflexes over Thurman. He can fight going forwards or can counter well and caught Thurman with some vicious counters. Also showed a good, stiff jab at times. He's definitely a player at 147.
Quite impressed. Also showed a solid chin but not setting his offense up or using more variety to his attack was his downfall a bit. Hit lack of body punching and relying on counters to intiate his offense limited his ability to land more consistantly but they're relatively minor stratigic things that can be fixed easily. He would be hell for alot of WW's and even though i know it won't happen i'd love to see Chaves vs Maidana.
