Who else was shocked that McGirt stopped the fight?

Very good point and well put. If it were all about heart, I guess Brewster had to rethink how noble that was, when he started getting pounded.

To hell with this warrior's heart nonsense, I am getting beat to hell in there.

I thought McGirt was just threatening to pull the plug to motivate Brew. I just can't see quiting in a world title fight. What happened to the "you're gonna have to kill me to beat me" warrior mentality?

Brewster didn't argue either. He went out with a wimper and his tail between his legs. Why sugar coat this? That's what fcking happened.

    McGirt was right.
Wald was "Ali"ing him. Punching his brains out with out risking getting knocked out. Brewster would have lasted one or two rounds more, and folks would be bitching, the fight should have been stopped sooner. Hell punches to Brewster's gloves were backing him up a full step.
McGirt had told him the round before, if he didn't do something he was going to stop the fight. All Brewster did in that next round was get stuck, and not move.
And Wald had hit him with a couple of very good rights here and there.

He obviously had too much ding-a-ling in his head by that time. :!:

I was speaking of Mayweather vs Gatti, not a fight where his fighter had a shot of winning. Maybe you saw that fight as well:patsch .

Buddy was spot on, he warned him and gave him another round to do something - he couldnt. The fight was over.

There was no sense in having a Larry Holmes-Tex Cobb type of situation. Good move by Mcgirt.

Did they ever figure out what happened there? That was a strange moment.
