He came up to welter when the division was pretty week. I mean, JUDAH and BALDOMIR WHERE UNDISPUTED CHAMPS!!! It's just funny to me that he "retired" after Mosley, Cotto, and Williams came on the scene. Cotto, Margo, and Mosley all beat the crap out of each other, and now Floyd shows his face when the little 'pino takes away his shine...
That's lunacy. Especially that you would use a Bob Marley quote. :nono Who didn't want to fight at 140 when they were both champions because they were still too green? Who didn't want to fight because his teeth hurt, and he wanted to go on vacation with his family. Who didn't want to take blood tests? Better yet, the blood testing was in the contracts from Day 1, and the early reports from the Pacquiao camp were that they were fine with it. Then weeks later they don't want to take the test atsch Who was the one that didn't want to pay Mayweather a guaranteed 10 million dollars? So you pay Mayweather 8 million for Margarito(He would have made the same fighting Baldomir), and then you offer him 7 million for Cotto, and 7 million for Hatton? He bought himself out, made 8 million fighting Baldomir, 25 million for Oscar, and 20 million for Hatton. On that same token why continue for Tsyzu when you can get the guy who beat Tsyzu. About the only one who really earned his due was Margarito. Who went on to lose to Paul Williams, and Cotto to a lesser extent, but it seems Cotto's prime was for 1 year. It takes two to tango. Find me when all of the guys mentioned wanted Mayweather. I don't recall the likes of Kostya ever calling him out, and now Mosley JUST NOW calls him out since he's desperate for that big pay day.
mayweather always uses the "calling out" excuse, but when people he dosent want to fight do the calling out he acts like he dont make the decisions. Ill bet my LIFE he would never have stepped in the ring with Tszyu. your all his puppets and believe what he wants you to believe. the guy is so insecure when he gets even slightly tagged in a fight he feels he has to show boat to show "hey iam ok it didnt hurt". i see right through that ****, him and his management have been trying to convince the public that hes the greatest. Why do i need to be convinced? why cant he convince me in the ring?
It is all about money. Don't believe he ducked anyone but made the best decision that would place him higher on the food chain. Mosley beat....DESTROYED Margarito and the "hand wraps" story makes more headlines than Mosley. Sad but true. Mosley did not get anymore famous from that fight. Floyd makes smart moves that urges haters and fans of his to write threads on countless websites just to discuss topics about him. He fought Hatton, De La Hoya, will fight Mosley and hopefully fight Pacquiao if he beats Mosley. After this, the "duck" should be past tense.
He definitely ducked Cotto and Margarito. 1. Floyd turned down $8,000,000 to fight Margarito. It's probably good that he did, because if Margarito was ever able to actually hit Floyd, he might've done some major damage with his loaded handwraps. 2. Floyd ducked Cotto. When asked if he would fight Cotto, Floyd answered in typical Floyd fashion, "I'm gonna retire from boxing, I'm not gonna let boxing retire me." Boxing retire you Floyd or Miguel Cotto? Now, I honestly believe that Floyd could've beaten both of the guys that I mentioned, but he ducked them all the way to the bank, while cashing in on Ricky Fatton.
IN all honesty the only one I think FLoyd ducked was Manny. Afterall his actions were largely "UNCHARACTERISTIC" of the Floyd we all know. Floyd for the most part is supremely confident in himself, yet with Manny his actions tell a different story even if his mouth is still insisting he's confident that he'd outclass and dominate Manny. Other than that Floyd has had other options and chose the path where the money was.....With Manny the Money was there, but his confidence seem to waiver.
So are we talking about ability? Or is this going to turn into another senseless argument about PPV #'s...
I love how now everyone says that fighting Ricky Hatton was a ***** move for him. But at the time, not only being the best money fight, Hatton was looked at as the top 140lber in the sport and had stoppages over Kostya (the guy Floyd ducked remember) and Castillo. :deal And was undefeated.
Nah.....Ricky was an excellent choice in opponent. He presented the money aspect and he was undefeated. Rick isn't as bad as everyone tries to make him out. Sure he's limited but you don't become a world champion by not being world class and a top level fighter. Ricky faced a bigger man who had more talent, ablity and skills. Yet he still made it a very physical and semi competitive fight.
I won't speak about any more ducking, I'm not talking Floyd any more...just want to see this year play out.
It is what it is... No Tsyzu, No Marg, No Cotto, No Williams...Hatton and JMM back to back with both of them fighting at unnatural weights. Take it for what it is...
people are silly, they revise history to appese themselves, there is the video of bob arum saying cotto is not ready, watch the gatti fight and look at cotto face is was way more stoic than usual, thats the only fight that in all honesty should have happened but you cant say its all floyd fault you notice the 2 people that are alway brought up are arum fighters
