Who exactly would follow Yuriorkis Gamboa other than boxing purists?

We know hispanics(particularly Mexicans and Puerto Ricans) follow their fighters, UK folks, as far as I know, follow their fighters, Filipinos etc... but who is going to pay $59.99 for Yuriorkis' fights?

I ask this because they had him ias some of the few in line as a successors to the current boxing "stars"..

No hate just a simple question from the business side of it

Like all FW's (and the likes)

He needs the exposure desperately , the Rios bout was absolutely perfect for him , but hey **** happens

He should of fought Juanma at least once by now (ideally twice) , but I'm quite happy he didn't because old **** face got **** on when his golden egg Juanma got stopped twice by a journeyman , thats your bad Bob !!!!

But that would clearly of been his definitive fight/s to date , its well documented that Arum hasn't done that great a job with Gamboa , this year is huge in terms of exposure for Gamboa , if he doesn't get a " super fight " this year , he should be looking beyond TR and old man Bob

No one. The only ones who will watch him are hardcore fans. No one knows who this guy is. Sure he has a small following like most others but he will never be a star.

once he gets the exposure on a big night and performs then he will get the fans wanting to watch him. and if he fights on the right dates like floyd does now people will watch him fight, floyd fought de la hoya on cinco de mayo, same now with cotto, he fought ortiz on mexican independence day i think. as long as gamboa performs well, builds up a resume and gets the right datess people will watch him.

He could try and target the PR fans. If he fights in NY and dedicates the fight to boricuas, and says cubans and boricuas are like brother nations (we do share a similar history and flag) maybe we could adopt him. Edison Miranda was embraced because he lived here and represented both Colombia and Puerto Rico. If I was Gamboa I would try something similar.

Sucks he because of his size he can't have the "mike tyson effect". He's a K.O machine but at the end of the day.............5'5 128lbs
