no , he deserves the praise, how many boxers have remained undefeated in their careers , made 20+defences of their world title over best part of eleven years.
ok some of his opponents have been mediocre but he has fought some real good people and stepped up to the plate when given lacy and kessler.
i agree hopkins at 43 is old but he is still useful and a match for anyone, hopkins is a bit of a freak of nature, seems to age slower than most!!!
all in all i would put calzaghe down as a very very good fighter but not great!!!!:thumbsup

A ****ing belt doesn't mean **** if you are in a weak weightclass. It's easy to be undefeated when you are always fighting in Europe, when you fight in America it's a whole different story. Ask Ricky Hatton. **** off. Kessler would have gotten his ass kicked by, Pavlik, Taylor, Roy Jones (the old version), Tarver and an old Hopkins a lot worse. Europe is like the little leagues of boxing.

So Sheika is worthless, despite him having just beat Glen Johnson who Calzaghe should fight

And Calzaghe is 'supposed' to beat old man Hopkins, who just whooped Tarver's ass, yet Calzaghe really should fight Tarver

    Wow.

I think he's very skilled. But I think he falls short of being great because his resume isn't that great. I wish he'd have come to the States earlier and now he is bout to retire..

Tarver was weight drained. At least glen johnson is still young enough to fight back. It doesn't matter if he beat sheika and sheika beat johnson, styles make I'm amazed that an arrogant ******* like yourself overlooked this. Is Mora better than Oscar? Because he beat forrest, who beat mosley the man that beat oscar.

No, I see your point regarding styles entirely. However, it's comical, bordering on the ridiculous, you downplay wins against fighter A, and tell us he should fighter B, when B got whooped by A

America is not dominant in all the weight divisions. Never was and never will be.

    Priceless. You ****ing idiot.

Ask Ricky Hatton what exactly? Are you the best 140lb boxer on earth?

What the **** has the old version of jones got to do with anything? What is this if a guy cant beat prime Jones (and frankly not many can) they are automatically **** are they?

Ever had a look at who has held the WBO super middleweight belt? Thats as strong a list of names as you will find anywhere. Weak division my ****. Just weak in America.

If you didnt notice half of my list (the weaker half obviously) was made made up of American fighter. Brewer Mitchell Lacy Sheika - funnily enough the only one on that list that was protected and overrated turned out to be Lacy.
