    here...

    ..and here.

nobody is making it out to be world class ffs. it's just not as bad as people like you try to make out.

the bloke has cleared out his division and is going onto fight for the LHW title. much like old man river.

    Er...yeah...actually...

As TFFP said, this is destined to be an epic. Maybe this should be made the official slanging match thread. At least if it's confined to one thread the board will be less cluttered.

Because that's the fight the public wants. Because everyone knows that Hopkins priced himself out of the last fight. Because there are all the people like you who wants to see Calzaghe beat Hopkins ass, and all the American cheerleaders who want to see Hopkins win...

It's the public, the taunting, and the money that caused this fight...period.

In the end, I am not saying Calzaghe doesn't have a good resume. I am saying it is NOT ON THE LEVEL that you guys talk about it.

Regardless of what you think, he spent 9 of his prime years fighting little known fighters for a meaningless belt, and that's fact.

For ****s sake this is what I mean. The back slappers have hijacked this thread & are trying to turn into yet another platform from which to spout their false propaganda about Joe's record.

'World class' was a daft term to use, because it suggests his resume does not compete with other fighters at present. Which is of course bull****, considering he's up there in the top 3/4 of any sensible persons p4p list

It's not an ATG resume, but there is still time for that

I am not making it out to be BAD. I said it is not on the level of an all-time great fighter. Besides, where was JC to fight a PRIME fighter when JC was in his PRIME??? You gotta admit that his resume was weak from his BIGGEST WIN (Eubank) to his "coming out party in America" (Lacy).

For 9 years, his resume was weak by ATG standards. Those 9 years represented his prime.

Im not a huge fan or the Pro-Calzaghe crew anymore, it was better it was me and a few others against the entire forum, now Joe has fans coming out of his arse. The problem is popularity will draw dumbasses like **** draws flies...

Perhaps World Class was a bad term. For a fighter AS GREAT AS CALZAGHE IS, his resume of defeated fighters and accomplishments is weak.

The other fighters in his league of greatness, all have better resumes.

That's the better way to put it. You're right, Calzaghe can change it, but there is no defending those 9 years he spent taking the easy way out. I admit things I don't like, I just can't stand when Calzaghe fans make excuses for it. There is no excuse...

Don't worry. If your boy loses it will go back to your preferred situation. Unless of course you dissappear as well.
