What JC has done is great, you know being undefeated and all after all this years. I do give him credit like I know you do. I really like Bernard and I'll say that this will be a tough fight for JC (easy in the UK fans mind, it is understandable he is a great boxer after all).

I do think what if JC loses the fight against Hopkins.

I always had this insight that Hopkins is too experienced, fit, strong and big to get out-maneuvred by him even if Joey C fights like he did against Lacy, Kessler, Veit and Eubanks... But I feel myself turning against Hopkins sometimes such as when I read Eric Raskin's Round One in The Ring Mag - "Hard as it is to count the old man out, Calzaghe sure seems like a nightmare style for him, as it's tough to beat a guy who'll triple your punch output unless you have that one-punch equalizer"... As for the thread itself and to dan-b himself, I would suggest that the exercise is pointless since people can easily understand that 1) dan-b knows boxing, 2) everybody knows that Calzaghe is favoured to win ( even in B-Hops' mind), 3) it's funny to keep the rivalry going until April cuz once it's over, so the entertainment will be over too.
dan-b should really not take it so seriously and enjoy the whole debate without making it personal. I really believe this is the best confrontation in boxing P 4 P since the uncivil war Jones vs Toney.

Good post. Rest easy my friend I have far greater stresses in my life than this place.;)

Joe may triple the output but how much will he actually land?

You are turning against Joe because his ESB fans annoy you? So why not start a thread saying "Joe C fans are annoying!", instead? Doesn't make sense to support a fighter on the basis of what his fans are like, really, does it? It seems to me you want his fans to be humiliated more than you want Joe to lose, no?

He wont using clinching to avoid punches, he'll use clinching to slow the pace & rest.

Surely you must have seen him coming at Mario Veit in Germany... Man, it's a whirlwind attack from all angles and the guy "slaps" ya with both hands until you simply can't see where you're going - I personally don't like them to come out at me like Joe does. I really wish Bowie Fisher and Nazeem Richardson were there and that Bernard can really intimidate him so much that he comes out gun-shy... Oh well, I like Joe C too so if he wins, it's alright with me.

You're wierd. Anyway, the purpose of Hopkins clinching is as I said above. He'll block & avoid the punches Joe throws at him & try to counter. Expect to see Joe eat some nice straight rights.

I know I am my mates and parents tell me that all the time. Thats what makes me intriguing and interesting and provokes a great debate.
