In looking back at their careers thus far, I have not come across Mayweather ever asking for a catchweight. If someone knows of a fight, please let me know.

Pac has fought 2 so far.
Cotto (on pounds less....make a huge fuss if you must)
    Margarito
    And has JMM on deck.

Floyd has had one, vs. JMM although he just blew it off and weighed what he wanted.

    not hard to answer.

pacquiao has fought at 145 and 151 against cotto and margarito respectively.
floyd has fought at 144 against marquez but did not honor the catchweight agreement.

2-1 so far and pac is fighting his 3rd catch-weight fight with marquez at 144 for his (pac's) WBO welter title.

technically he didn't but jmm did.

yes, we cannot count shriveled up Oscar as a catchweight. It was a contracted welterweight fight.

True. If Floyd fanatics do that, it opens a whole more to be counted for Floyd. :deal

That's because wasn't professional enough to make the agreed weight of 144.

Well, if DLH fighting at 154 then going back to 147 means it's a catchweight for Pac, then Floyd vs. Hatton at 147 is a catchweight fight too, as Floyd came from JrMW to WW while Hatton went from JrWW to WW.

Of course i don't count those, but can see idiots trying to.

They both have, Pac has done it more. I personally don't see a problem with it, the only problem I have is when they make up belts to facilitate it.

personally, i don't have problem with it either. catchweights are sometimes necessary to make fights fairer when two top guys are separated by a weight class or two. and i have no problem with the belts either since it is not valued as much as it was then. the fighter should make the belt and not the other way around.

Yeah I see what you mean, we all know what a belt means nowadays given we have champs like JCC JR etc... But I'm still against making new titles up. Thats the last thing we need is more titles.

Umm Manny did it in one of his earlier fights in which he was knocked out in...
DLH though it was at 147 and that is a legit weight class it wasnt like it was not a catch weight fight Oscar was at a comfortable 154 for a while moved up as high as 160. so comming back down after all those years obviously had an effect on him...

Floyd when he fought Corrales I thought that was a catch weight as well I could be wrong though..

However Floyd doesnt do the catch weight to drain someone down, its easier to move up in weight as Marquez did to fight Floyd, than it is to move down in weight as DLH did to fight Pac
