Jones fought the best Hopkins. he wasn't prime yet, but he wasn't far past his prime either. Hopkins was at his complete prime (best balance of physical & mental strenght) at about 36. he was basically 40 and weight drained against taylor, and 7 years past prime vs. calzaghe. still beat them tho!

Personaly I think Calzaghe did. For a fighter to do so well two divisions above with out any time to adjust not only shows skill but also that weight drain was an issue. On paper you'd think Roy but when you watch that fight you can see he was not at his peak. I think Roy was even greener though and probably would have beaten the Calzaghe Hopkins fought even more decisivley at his prime. Hopkins was an entire stone stronger though at lhw which says physicaly atleast he was at his best there since he was coming off two great performances and went on to dominate a guy who'd just beaten Taylor twice in his next fight and then go on to win the lineal title over three years after this fight.

Roy Jones fought the most physically prime hopkins but he was green at the time

Hopkins was coming off wins to fighters who never achieved anything significant after
He went onto fight for the vacant title against Mercado a year later drawing and being dropped twice in the first fight

Jermain Taylor fought an older weight drained Hopkins

Hopkins was coming off pretty decent wins over De la Hoya, Eastman, Joppy and Allen
He later moved up in weight to beat Tarver and Wright

Joe Calzaghe fought an even older Hopkins who was more comfortable at his weight

Hopkins was Coming off 2 good wins against IBO Champ Tarver and Wright
He beat Undefeated Kelly Pavlik right after the loss

    Has to be Calzaghe

Calzaghe lit Hopkins up. Total shutout.

Definitely not Calzaghe, either Jones or Taylor.

The best B-Hop was 1997-2001, but I think he was closer to this in 1993 than he was in 2005, so Roy fought the best version of the versions listed.

Taylor had the toughest time..... Calzaghe didn't struggle as bad.... RJJ took him to school.... NOT sure if these things happened because of Hopkins or because of the level of RJJ, Calzaghe, and Taylor.... I'd still say RJJ took on teh best version.. he was too old for the older fights... I TAKE NOTHING AWAY FROM CALZAGHE'S WIN THOUGH.. or TAYLOR'S
