Mosley had wins over Oscar twice, Mayorga, Vargas 2X, Coilazo and Margarito. Those are damned good wins the past decade and only had lost once to Cotto at 147 since Forrest.

Gotta love how a lot of the ***gots who were complaining that Floyd would never fight this guy after his destruction of Margarito all of a sudden came to the realization that he was "shot" after Floyd signed on to fight him.

    Revisionist history. :verysad

Now this is a HUGE stretch. Are you NOW giving Shane a pass for juicing and winning against DLH? Kind of goes against what you said in the other thread. Besides, even if I give you the two DLH wins, that was the last time he had a meaningful win. Almost 10 years ago. I don't rate his wins over Vargas or Mayorga as very meaningful at all. Some entertainment aspecvts, yes, but meaningful? Nope. Neither Vargas or Mayorga hald any significance when they fought Shane. IT was nothing more then money fights between 'name' fighters.

Same w/ his win over Ciollazo, who's done nothing but be a near top contender. If this makes him P4P #3, then that just further proves my point on how useless that popularity ranking is.

Collazo and Margarito were top guys at welterweight. Hell, Collazo was straight robbed against Berto for his title. Shane won every round against him. and crushed Margarito.

Well obviously it was Mayweather, unless someone is going to argue that in the 18 months and draw against an average opponent later,Mosely had suddenly gotte better

Neither of them fought him when he would have been the most dangerous to them.

Well no **** because that would have been around 2001 after Shane had moved up to 147, was still undefeated and had knocked out nearly everyone he faced. Floyd was still fighting at 130 at the time... Pacquiao 122.

I'll give you Margarito, I was never disputing that win (notice I originally said ONE meaningful win). But Collazo? He's proven to be nothing more then a mere contender. Hell, I don't even think Berto was all that special. How can one tell? By how he looked easting on hand picked opponents to defend his title against? I think his loss to Ortiz said more about him then it did how good Ortiz is (as shown since). Either way, fine, his win over Collazo was decent. So that win over Collazo (Followed by a loss to Cotto), and a win over Margarito equals P4P #3? You cannot be serious. I don't know if you actually believe Shane was P4P #3, or are just playing devil's advocate here. Ever since Shane lost to Vern Forrest, he's never looked like the Shane of old. Even against mediocre opponets like Cruz or Estrada. He's been too hot and cold since that loss to Viper. And mostly cold.

I find it astounding he could be thought of as P4P #3. Pac and Floyd were both fighting at welter, so we're to believe that the best 3 fighters on the planet were all fighting at the same weight?

So, Tony "Hey, what's that you've got on your hands mate? No I don't think so" Margarito is Mosleys career defining win?

Rather than one last stand from an old stager, against a guy who'd just been caught with plaster of paris hands, and with a perfect style for an old guy like Mosley - i.e. his main defensive tool is his face.

I thought all Floyd fans said Margo was pure garbage and had done nothing to be considered good anyway? Or is that not the case now?

FFS. Mosley was done at the time of the Vargas fights. Post roids.

I honestly can't believe what I'm reading on this thread.

Floyd probably fought a marginally better version. Purely because he was slightly less shot at 38 and 8 months than he was at 39 and 8 months.

Still, we're talking degrees of shot.
