Pretty much. The P4P rankings are about as meaningful as punchstats.

    Does it matter?

At what point between Floyd beating him, him drawing with Mora and then fighting Pacquiao did he become better?

Margarito sucks, but he's suddenly awesome when used to justify Shane's back to prime form against Floyd. FLoyd fanboys are too ****in shameless....

Well how did Margarito even get on the P4P list...Cotto, Hatton, etc? A lot of the times there are odd situations that put people on the list.

You sound like you are apart of Mosley's team justifying a dull performance.

    ---

Anyone who honestly believes that Pacquiao fought the better Mosley is out of their minds. That would mean that, if they weren't employing a double standard, most of the percieved "which win is better scenarios" are in fact reversed.

It's like people saying Ward fought the better Kessler than Calzaghe did.

I'm talking about recent times. Floyd was avoiding even when Shane came to his gym personally to get the fight going. Then Mayweather waits until after Mosley had already had almost a full training camp with Berto before that fight fell through, and then singed to fight him shortly after that. He could have been the one to sign to fight him instead of Berto, but he didn't. Mosley also tried to get a fight with pacquiao at that same time, and he didn't want to fight him either.

Mayweathers win obviously. Pacquiao ducked Mosley up until that loss against Floyd.

Oh well, it's ok cause he fought Cotto at a catchweight ;)

    >2012 - Offers Cotto a fight at another catchweight.

Source on Shane showing up at Floyd's gym? I never heard that, but I do know he showed up at the Wild Card twice asking for a fight with Pacquiao and even offering to come down to some ridiculous catchweight to make the fight happen. Roach essentially told him that he was "too good" for Manny to fight him unless he was drained as ****.

Also, wasn't it Shane who had to get some dental work done and was going on vacation when Floyd called him out after his second fight with Vargas? :think

The bottom line is that Shane wasn't in his prime for either fight, but he was closer to his prime and coming off a big win at the time Floyd fought him. By the time Manny decided he was safe enough to fight, he was yet another year removed from his prime and coming off two shitty performances.

His win over Cotto was what put him in there I guess. I certainly didn't see him as a top P4P fighter then, or now. And again, just shows how flawed and irrelevent the P4P rankings are. They're nothing but something for fans to talk about,m like mythical matchups. P4P means very little actually.
