I think todays Hopkins would beat the younger version of Hopkins
Younger BHOP would squeak past JC
    JC squeaked past todays BHOP

Calzaghe are you guys for real...?

Hopkins can't work for 3mins of every round anymore....

He can only beat certain fighters, with certain styles...

Its a myth that he became better with age....

His oppitition past 40, are just **** compared to the 90's thats all...

The six opponents that Hopkins has fought since he turned forty include four that were ranked in the Ring P4P top ten at the time of the fight and one Ring magazine division champion.

    '****' indeed...

Calzaghe for me, Hopkins is a fighter who knows exactly how to make his experience work to his advantage and by the time he faced Joe his experience was top notch lol

He has not aged the way most fighters usually do.

What does that have to do with you comment on the standard of his opposition?

Calzaghe fought the better version of Hopkins by far. The young Hopkins lacked the discipline and rings smarts of the older version.

A prime Calzaghe against the younger Bhop would've been an exciting fight, I think Joe would edge it. If the young Bhop fight a prime JC he gets outworked.

Hopkins got better with age, he was one of the few fighters who could change his style completely and adapt to age catching up with up.

Hey joker it's December, not April 1st. I don't know if you're a wind up merchant or what, but by and large your posts are full of ****.

    Picked the wrong one!:patsch
I think Calzaghe faced a tougher Hopkins and would have dealt with the younger version with more ease. The Hopkins that destroyed Trinidad would be too much for however.

I agree. From reading this thread its clear Primadonna Kool is p4p the worst poster on this forum.

But back on topic..Its hard to answer.

The 'Jones' Hopkins had more stamina but lacked the skills and smarts he has these days.

The 'Calzaghe' Hopkins had all the tricks and know how but couldnt keep up with Joe's frantic pace.

    I cant really decide.
