Who from the old generation of boxers with the lowest ranking can beat the current top heavies?

A lot of people feel the likes of elite former heavyweight champs would easily beat today`s heavies, if that`s the case how far down the rankings in each former decade could you go to find a heavy that could be champ today? I personally don`t think Fury or AJ are as great as modernists make out but I also feel they could both probably beat 90% of former heavyweight champs at their respective peaks.

Brian Neilson. Seemed pretty durable for a big guy. A top 30 type fighter. Was basically a heavy bag for Tyson. A really heavy heavy bag.

Cooney would have as shot against Joshua. Not saying he would win, but I could see it.

Corrie Sanders for Fury. Fury likes to beffudle his opponents with size, slickness, ambidextrousness, ability to fight inside or out. I would not put him in there with a guy who is pretty big himself, hard punching, southpaw and superfast hands. It is hard to say which would more confuse the other, and Corrie being a natural southpaw takes away the advantage of switch-hitting.

Sanders never fought a guy as hard to hit as Fury.

    Watch Otto Wallin fight.
Is Fury that hard to hit? Wallin landed 50 percent of his punches and gave him a pizza face. Canningham and even Pajcic dropped him.

It was a war, I`m talking about Fury on the backfoot like he was v Wlad and how he was in the first cagey fight v Wilder, if you come plowing in like Wallin again Fury you will get countered all over the place, not sure Sanders would elect to fight Fury that way.

The cut really effected Fury in that bout.

Imagine thinking Corrie Sanders could beat Fury lol.

Blown up cruiser who is known for stopping stiff young aggresive Wlad

Then big boy Vitali had to show Wlad how it is done.

Fury beats Sanders with one hand behind his back and beats up Wlad & Vitali in between rounds.

The story is always "Oh Fury got dropped by Cunningham and had a tough night against Wallin"

It's funny how you have to always take the outlier fights to make a case against Fury. The difference is Fury's best performances against the best men are total domination jobs & he showed something new in all of them fights which is really really rare.

I agree, but the point is that maybe taking on a natural southpaw makes him a bit easier to hit.

Not saying it is so, just maybe.

Sanders would have knocked out fury, he punched harder than wilder and sanders was out of shape against vitali and still cracked him hard 3 times and knocked him down once even if the ref didnt call it. sanders was 10 pounds lighter against wladimir and he would have destroyed fury.

I would definitely favor Sander’s to stop Fury. Well, at least to knock him down and make him run and hug. Wlad didn’t have much heart.

And the cut was caused by Wallin's left hook. Fury can't see left hooks coming.

The myth that Fury is hard to hit comes from the Wlad fight. However, Wlad was old and slow at 40.
Wilder almost KOed him. Fury got up by some miracle.

Threads like this really easily show you, who is a internet boxing “expert“ and who stepped into the ring himself.
