i was rewatching the fight last night, and i really dont know how nate got the nod....i mean, he showed huge heart but there were so many rounds where he just layed there taking shots, i mean i only gave him 3 clear rounds...

    anyways,
the 12th round is where many say he won it...but i was watching it close yesterday and i noticed that he started out aggresive, but about mid round he just completely gave up, started using his head a lot and didnt really do much, funeka IMO did enough do take over and win that round clearly...
i felt really bad for funeka cause after the fight, you can clearly tell who had thought they won, and who had thought they lost....

before this fight, i had only watched the zahir fight and i gotta say, he kind of answers a lot of questions for me about "what if chico corrales was more of a boxer"...

i can't wait to see him in there again, the man is gonna make some noise at 135 :happy:happy
the way he was crying at the end really got to me, you can tell this man didn't come to play around, he really wanted that title...

I did give Campbell the 12th round,I thought he did enough.Altough he lost many of the middle rounds the 2 10-8 rounds hurt Funeka.
And Chico was a decent boxer IMO,I mean look at Casamayor II.

Although i hadn't seen to much of him before the rahim fight he is fast becoming one of my favourite fighters, excellent skills, decent punch, maybe a weakish chin but a great heart. He is the kind of guy that boxings all about.

i know chico was a decent boxer, but funeka's feet and body movement is what really impressed me a lot....he definately fights tall, and with his power he aint scared to mix it up....

watch it again, i swear that at about midround, he just stops being agressive and goes kind of into a shell....funeka's half of the round was way bigger than nates IMO....

A lot of Funeka's punches were failing to get through the guard though, and in some of the closer rounds Nate was landing the cleaner body shots whereas Funeka's combinations were flashy but ineffective.

I will score it tonight, I think I had it 114-114, with the two KD's that'd be 114-112 for Nate.

Will re-score it with a pen tonight rather than just from visuals and relying on memory. It might be worth scoring it with the sound down.

With Nate moving up, and possibly Juan Diaz and JMM (and besides, who knows what they will be like by the end of that fight, I think it will be a WAR) the LW division is now Funeka's for the taking.

Well, it won't be easy, but you'd have to make it 50-50 between Funeka against Katsidis (very good chance due to his wild rights, one could land and Funeka would be hurt, however, he shows the intelligence of clinching and his frame seems to make it hard for him to be finished easily) Valero (I honestly think Funeka would box his head off and stop him) David Diaz (hasn't got the punch to trouble Funeka, slow and small) Julio Diaz/Joel Casamayor (both past their best) Amir Khan/Barrera (Barrera seems shot, Funeka would obliterate Khan)

Funeka vs. Prescott would be an exciting fight that's for sure!!!

One thing I noticed, Campbell's pressure meant Funeka never really sat down on his punches. He seemed to be boxing off the backfoot most of the fight, and whenever he did sit down on his punches NAte had a good enough defence so he didn't really get hurt. I think if Funeka was faced with a lesser opponent (weight-drained or not Nate is amongst the best in the division, it's out of him and JMM in terms of 'who is the best LW' IMO) who was either A) Less skilled with pressure fighting B) Poor defence (i.e Katsidis and Valero) then Funeka would throw that straight right down the centre and squash them!

Either way, Funeka's emergence on the scene has made LW just as interesting, even if some of the best seem to be about to jump ship.

The way it's going, 140 seems to be the best division now!

Funeka was running and holding on for dear life, while Nate was pressing the action going for the KO, the other guy was just trying to survive, seriously Funeka lost that rd hands down.

u'r confusing it with the 11th, funeka was not running around, he was peppering nate with shots while all nate did was keep his head in funekas chest, even using it as a weapon at times...

for the last minute of the 12th round campbell never stopped throwing hurtful body punches
