Griffin, though this was not Jones best weight class. Then Hopkins followed by Harding IMO.

I didn't think Hopkins gave him a tough fight. Hopkins if I remember correctly landed very few clean punches. I think Toney gave him a tougher fight. Then there was Lou Del Valle who gave Roy a run for his money in the 8th when he dropped him and was competitive the entire night.

The best fights were avoided...did not unite at any weight nor ever tired....not at Middle, not at Supper Middle, and after offering to fight the Tiger for a rediculase ammount of money with out a belt, had a HBO contract that forbid thier mention of Tiger's name...Tiger being the first 3 belt Champ "the Undisputed Lt. Heavy Champ of the world for a day and a month before being stripped, so Jones could inherit his belts.....

Dodged Grochachanni who won the title in the ring vs Nunn,(prime Nunn was avoided in two weight classes by Jones) and suddenly became "the very first Interum" Champ after the fact......cost that belt factory millions after it was taken to court......
So in Jones's prime in Lt. Heavy he was never ever undisputed champ of the world, except on HBO. Tiger was the man...and Jones offered him 1/3 which was lots less than Tiger made fighting at home.
Dodged his manditory Tua, and Vittili....offered to fight Brewster, Jerov and never did.....
So his toughest fight as Prime was his lawyer vs HBO. So He' not have to fight the Tiger.
At his prime before it was found out he had a shakey Jaw, I'd had a Jones Tiger fight at 6 to 5, in favor of Jones.....

One fighter who's name escapes me, who lost in the 8th to Tiger, and in the 11th to Jones, said Jones was more athletic, but Tiger hit harder.

Jones avoided more good men than he fought, in four weigh classes.
Jones was the biggest smoke blowing Bull **** artist of all times.....like offering Lewis the what was left over after he took the first $50 million off the top.....
I've been saying this since Jone's prime.

Tiger is lucky that he retired when he did or else Jones would've knocked his punk ass out.

The first Griffen fight until the unfortunate DQ, by then Jones was in control was the only time during his career that I saw him out boxed in his prime. He did work out Griffen though by round 6 I think, but until then he was being outboxed for sure.

He edged out B Hop in most rounds, so that was not as a close fight on the cards as some seem to think. Whoever said Toney clearly has a bad memory of the fight, as Toney barely landed a punch on Jones all night.

Hopkins a tough fight? Get real. He sleepwalked his way through it. The first Griffin fight is a clear winner here. :huh

Indeed, the Griffin bout. Toney got schooled BADLY, and B-Hop whilst at least competitive was never really in that fight.
