There is a plethora of fighters out there that GBP could sign, especially once they become the premier promoters for HBO (I doubt that happens as personally I dont think Arum will stick to this non HBO thing for long) but if it happens, they will have plenty of fighters to choose from.

    Dont forget that GBP has

Alvarez, Khan, Matthyse, Maidana, JMM, Kirkland, Mares, among others.

Again, thats not mentioning guys they will snatch up.

Really, it wont be that hard for them.

Everybody gets hurt from a falling out.

Top Rank fighter's lose in the short term because match ups between fighters of rival networks won't be made unless they are super fights.

Bob Arum loses because HBO Sports, despite the arrogance shown by their executives, has the deepest pockets the and a wealth of experience in distributing fights. The last thing you want as a promoter is to find out that one of the biggest premium networks has closed its doors to you and everyone you know.

HBO loses because this isn't a situation where Arum is just switching to Showtime like Don King did in the early 90s. Although King's departure resulted in HBO missing out in significant revenues throughout the decade, HBO still maintained it's status on top of the boxing food chain as the network of choice despite Showtime bridging the gap. Arum's departure is different though; Arum is leaving HBO to pursue a new platform of mass promotion that will increase the exposure of Top Rank fighters and boxing in general. If the Showtime/CBS distribution deal for Pacquaio-Mosley works as expected and delivers strong numbers, it will set a precedence that will create the irreversible shift of returning boxing back to the traditional networks as new players would likely emerge and cut deeply into the HBO Sports' bottom line and dominance.

In the end Arum's success may very well benefit the fans in the long term. If it fails, prepared to get frustrated with loads of recycled fights.

would HBO be happy if their biggest star (pacquiao) is already fighting in another network? of course no, and heads will definitely roll inside HBO office for this falling out.

Would Arum be happy seeing his fight being advertised and featured in a prime time network? definitely. especially if in the other network, his fights are being vetoed and his slots being given to rival promoters. Arum made a business decision, CBS gave him an offer that HBO couldn't give him. the only question is for how long will this TR-CBS deal prosper
