I really respect Marquez in the sense that he's a warrior, and the thought of clinching and even boxing when he probably should have didn't even enter his mind, but Pac was fighting a guy almost 20 lbs bigger, who has a reputation for suffocating his opponents until they give up.

I think Margo may have slighltly better technique than Kastidis, is a bigger puncher, and he's more relentless.

To be honest, I don't think is even close. If Marquez chose a smarter fight, he could have made this look easy. Kastidis in my opinion has terrible technique.

What did katsidis accomplish anyway prior to this fight? He is a C class fighter with a heart, a poor version of Arturo gatti.

Jmm makes fights that are mismatch interesting. Even the jaca fight or the Juan Diaz fight where you expect him to dominate become competitive at some point.

Imagine if he fought margarito or cotto? He got kd by a left in this fight considering that kat is not exactly a power puncher.

u gotta take into consideration at what point their careers their opponents were when they fought though......and it aint that marquez makes it harder, it's just that it is getting harder with his age and all, but he is still pulling thru.....just my opinion bro

i dont know why people expect marquez to blast thru all his opponents, the mans style became fan friendly late in his career...he's a true counterpuncher at heart, so the way people criticize his performances really leads me to believe that they barely heard of him 5 years ago

I have seen many jmm fights and he makes mismatch on paper interesting.

I guess it boils down to his earlier style of counterpunching. But for the past few years he has adapted a more fan friendly offensive nature and he seems to eat a lot of leather because of it. He is more suited for counterpunching. Even the Juan Diaz fight, if he opted to pick his spots he could have won more easily than malignaggi or in the mayweather fight where he could have let mayweather lead the fight and just be a pure counterpuncher.

He is a warrior definitely but he is taking way more punches against C class fighters at this stage.

Pac's win over Margarito was more impressive. JMM's win over Katsidis isn't even that huge a win for him. It's no bigger than his wins over Casa or Diaz...

Margarito was just a ww two years ago!!!! Yeah he came in like 17 more pounds that pacman but he was slow and motionless..... its not like Pacman was fighting a huge Jermaint Taylor or someone (I dont know why he came in my head).. Margarito is washed up, slow, and has no defense... JMM's win was more amazing by far.. especially since he was knocked down.. taht showed you what he was up against!

JMM/Kats was the better fight hands down but Pac's performance vs Margarito
, although expected, was still great!

Both were good and deserve credit; great fighters and both had their disadvantages- one having a huge ass dude giving away 17 lbs and a full head of height, the other having to fight a young hungry dude (hell they were both hungry at the time) while having to cope with 7 years of age.

However the method as to how Pac straight outclassed and brutalized his opponent wins it for me.

    Your comparison is really ridiculous.
Comparing margarito to katsidis is really ridiculous.

I remember when you started a thread where margarito would knock out PAC and some actually agreed with you. Only idiots however would have stated that kat has a chance. The only deciding factor is how well past his prime jmm is considering he is already 38 years old.

Margs is a giant, and Pac slaying him was a laughable concept not very long ago.

    Pac gets more credit, imo.

Manny obviously. He was fighting a wordclass fighter who outweighed him by 20 friggin pounds. Katsidis is a decent fighter but he's not in Marquez class . You should of known that coming in.
