Pacquiao over Margarito. It's still crazy. I'm not going to allow myself to think of what Pacquiao has been doing as something normal just because he's gotten a fairly consistent at doing it.

Margarito. Man is slow, but he was in the best shape of his life, was 17 pds heavier than Pac, and is tough as nails.
Katsidis got beat by Diaz and Caysamor....Whom JMM BEAT already!

Also, besides looking at there opponent just look at there fight. I did like JMM fight more, but he got knocked down in the 3rd, took plenty of shots, and won (which made it a great fight)
Pac on the other hand slapped the **** out of a man who is much, much bigger than him, and Marg couldn't catch him. Pac took a few shots, but didn't get knocked down/ really hurt, and destroyed his opponent.

Pacs opponent was better, Pacs win was more impressive, Pacs win was more dominant, BUT JMMs fight was more exciting.

This, marquez is older, 37 is ancient for 135 pounders. Everyone knew pac was going to win, it was the same old giant human punching bag match up gimmick.

Someone who only weighs 148lbs on fight night is not a full fledged welter. More probably a full fledged LW. Pac is only 3lbs heavier than JMM. Is JMM a big JWW now?

Pac obviously. JMM's win is impressive no doubt, but essentially he fought a lil Margo in there. Pac fought the real thing and did it with more domination. The people who picked JMM gets lost in the relative expectations from both guys. People expect greater things from Pac so when he whitewashes Margo its almost routine. JMM on the other hand, the level of expectation is so much lower so when he does the same against an even more limited brawler in Katsidis the tendency is to blow it out of proportion. Think of it this way, JMM and Pac are basically the same size....now throw JMM in with Margo and his nonstop pressure, do you think he'd get up from that 3rd round knockdown? Do you think think JMM would have eaten that 6th round bodyshot that doubled over Pac?

I think they're both great fighters, but Pac has higher standards to live up to, whereas JMM's greatness seems to be derived from the fact that he overcomes his vulnerabilities.

The hell? Both of them get equal credit for beating their opponent.

    What does it matter?

I know which one was a more competitive entertaining fight.

Marquez over Katsidis, but only because Margo is a walking corpse, seriously the guy is SLOW, the thing that makes him good is his chin and heart, nobody i knew had Margo wining, the second i heard Pacman was fighting Brickman, i knew pac would stop him late, and he almost did, on the other hand i was worried that Marquez was already too past it, but still had him wining in a war by decision, still i believe Marquez has no chance against Pacquiao at 140 and over.

Katsidis is more skilled than Margarito, a bit bigger at the weight, has a good punch, and Marquez is past his physical prime at 37 fighting at a weight he is more vulnerable at.

Margarito had the size and chin advantage. That's about it. Pacquiao was very impressive throwing volumes of punches and using his feet to maneuver, but his opponent had less to trouble a prime Pacquiao.

i never started such a thread....

and i'm comparing them as the fighters they are now, not a few years ago......

so by your logic willy wises win over chavez was better than pacs win over hatton......

sure it's a stupid question considering their resume, but that wasn't the question....the question was referring to the fighters they are today......plus the catchweights and all that bull****

Pacquiao is only slightly bigger then Marquez and he beat Margarito who would stomp both Katsidis and Marquez.
