As if the WBC needs any help being a running joke?!

This is the same org that put a 0-1 fighter straight into it's top 10 and protected a champion from quite mediocre contenders for years...

Let's not pretend it takes much for the WBC to make a mockery of it's history or the sport.

Ngannou because I knew who it was and you could play up the whole HW champ v HW champ in the other sport thing. I've never heard of this Rico fellow.

Fury was the lineal champ Fury v Ngannou was for the lineal title regardless. The absence of a sanctioning body doesn't change that. If Ngannou had officially won he would have been the HW lineal champion of the world and the Ring would have duly rubber stamped him as the guy.

Cannot agree more with you but hell , i strongly assume wbc does this for a financial profit and usyk pays them a very premium "fee" .

It will get interesting : if wbc really sanctions this joke as an official world title fight , they really loose credibility as a major boxing organization .

If wbc does not sanction this as an official world title defence but just an crossover fight they will run out of excuses how they tolerated this while the interim wbc champion is being skipped and waits forever .

I assume the guys at wbc are smart

In Fury - Ngannou the world title wasn't on the line and it was a 10 round fight. In Usyk - Verhoeven the fight is a 12 round fight and the WBC world title is on the line. These are the facts.

IF Usyk stops Verhoeven or dominates it should fade from memory quickly
Fury looked terrible, got put on his back side and a few people thought he lost to a novice boxer - who was destroyed in his next fight.
It's not a great look but this weird cross over fights seem here to stay.

From an already low bar, admittedly true.

In all honesty... They realistically know it'll be forgotten quite quickly, and they'll get the money for no major long-term damage outside of hardcore fans.

At times I think they're smart, others I have to wonder - you'd think they'd have pushed Wilder hard towards the Joshua superfight - crazy money to be made, yet they let him hold onto his belt making relatively meagre purses?

They've clearly run out of road with the waiting, if reports that Usyk has to fight Kabayel next or get stripped - there's limited motivation there, surely, whilst Kabayel fights just as infrequently and has returned to his habit of taking easy opponents?

Equally bad. Although Fury played games prior to the fight with the fake negotiations with Usyk. Getting fans all worked up.

I've already expressed my thoughts on those two matches, if you have a different opinion that's fine, no problem for me.

Fury and Usyk are both lineal. But only one is an actual World Title fight. Usyk.

Usyk by a mile, all Fury did was fight old men and bums, in lieu of actual live bodies.

Usyk still holds 3 belts whereas fury only held 1. Therefore this fight holds the division up worse. Simple

Joshua does. His fans were on here saying that Jake Paul is a great fight to get back into training mode and that it's perfectly justified.

Of Joshua's last three fights, TWO have been circus fights, and ONE has been a blowout loss.
