I didn't suggest that you implied Frazier or anyone else broke Ali's jaw. I just posted that Ali went to hospital after FOTC. After that fight Ali said in national and international papers.

"I call Joe champ now I didn't before , but I do now." That comes across as dignified acceptance of defeat, to me.

One of the things that lets you down big time is your infuriatingly condescending attitude towards the rest of us.

Phrases like," those in the know, "and " die hard Ali fans ," along with ,"I take it you are not from this country, that would explain your distorted viewpoint" imply that everyone who does not agree with you is a gullible fool .
I'm just a fan of boxing and claim no special expertise , but to be honest with you ,I haven't read one post of yours that indicates to me that I should tip my hat to you regarding boxing knowledge.

    Right.

If everyone else agrees, I'd like to say enough is enough. Houdini has been exposed as a self promoting loony, and I personally don't want to be a part of any further ridicule.

    I therefore bow out.

I do claim a high level of boxing history expertise.

Ali as I posted went on and on in an effort to convince the population that he was robbed in fight one. This is very well known and is illustrated in the following NYTimes snippet...

"That unanimous, seemingly indisputable decision? A gift, according to Ali from racially motivated White Judges. Much like morality...or decency, reality had little to do with what Ali said regarding Frazier. He wanted to convince his adoring public that Joe was an imposter who was handed a victory he did not deserve."

    Boxing history 101.

It's also boxing history 101 that no one except the most die hard Ali fan believed his camps claim that his jaw was broken in round one.

Again Boxing history 101. Perhaps because neither of you lived in the US during that time all of this is unknown to you. It's very known to me and should be known to anyone who lived through that time.

Next lessons I will charge you.

There is also a rumour that he could send a glass eye to sleep, but it is ONLY a rumour.

I don't know whether or not there is an official Ali website, but if there is I think we should all petition it and DEMAND Ali " proves" his jaw was broken when he said it was in the Norton fight.

I mean who the hell does he think he is compared to that dribble ( fountain ) of knowledge Houdini?

I know right..Compared to Houdini were are all just dribble makers and should thank our lucky stars we have him in our presence!!..I mean he knows Ali personally and them 2 are very close so everything he says MUST be true, including this jazz about the broken jaw!!...:nut

You just can't let it go can you.
Why would living in the US make you
1.More aware of the 70's boxing wise?
    2. Be in a position of authority to state when Ali's jaw was broken?

I've been practising and reading about boxing for over 50 years. I have Ring Magazines back to the middle 50's Boxing Illustrated, Ko, Boxing News [back to when it was a newspaper ] etc.and an extensive library on the subject going back to Bells Book Of Boxiana
So I'm up to speed on the " Ali Chronicles".

I am English and was born and live in the birth place of The Noble Art,

Jack Johnson gave exhibitions a couple of miles from me , the longest bareknuckle fight was fought in my county, a descendant of Tom Cribb was a family friend ,he had Cribb's watch and was his namesake.
I've spoken to Larry Gains about Carnera. Don ****ell about Marciano,
My Father conversed with Tommy Farr about Louis, and Braddock.

I was a ringside regular at the fights and will be at an arena a few miles away on Nov 16.
NONE OF THIS MAKES ME AN ORACLE ANY MORE THAN YOU ARE.

The fact that I was a regular at the big venues and the small ones [Manor Place, York Town Hall etc means nothing .
It doesn't give me any special kudos over a poster from say Belgium for example.

One of the premier experts on Muhammad Ali is Paddy Monaghan, he lives on a council estate in Abingdon, Oxforshire UK and to my knowledge he has never visited the US.

Many fight reporters took the Ali camp's word on his injury, your contention that it was overwhelmingly dismissed and only believed by fan boys is false.
The last post of yours emphatically endorses your modus operandi on this forum, its one that I've just mentioned ,an autocratic assumption that you are infallible and everyone else should recognize it.

Breaking news, you are just another poster, and a rather average one ,apart from your distorted view of your capabilities
You are not a combination of Nat Fleischer,WC Heinz, and AJ Leibling.

Neither are you an insider who is privy to intimate knowledge that is denied the rest of us.

You might have noticed ,[ but I very much doubt it,] the absence of any support for you on the threads on which you have been gracing us with the benefit of your supercilious pearls of wisdom.

You exalted opinion of yourself does not appear to be shared by anyone else on here.

You remain a legend in your own mind.

Take a cue from some one who does have the background and resources at his disposal but remains modestly low key, some one like Adam Pollack ,who unlike yourself, isn't on here telling us all how much he knows.
What we term in this country "blowing your own trumpet",and what in the words of the old proverb is known as "self praise is no recommendation".
    Sincerely.
Let it go and get over yourself.

    McVey.

You have got more chance of jogging through hell in a petrol soaked jock strap than him taking your advice.

An ego that big only imparts opinions, it doesn't take them on board.

Yes it's a shame neither of you know boxing history. What makes it worse is you don't want to learn. Instead you want to believe a history that never existed.
