The answer lies in Wilder being offered a 100 million dollar deal to make a fight with Joshua after the Fury fight and that sort of deal being replaced with crickets after the Ruiz fight.
I agree there is no comparison, AJ got Beat plain and simple. Its what he does next that will define him in his 23rd fight As for Wilder we learnt nothing that we did already not know...He has a devastating punch but lacks boxing technique, but in 12 rounds how many fighters can avoid those wild punches!! As for Ruiz, anyone with an ounce of boxing knowledge from the off could see that Andy has a good boxing technique and has the weight to help him land heavier than one would think. A great defence and really fast hands, it now looks like he has a good engine. Such a shame people still ridicule him for being fat and AJ losing to a Fat man, well all his other wins were him being a fat man as he has been since a kid. I kind of like these stories just like Big Country in the UFC.
Sorry to burst your bubble but your argument is pretty weak. You say the Wilder fight is the worst version of Fury because he looked like crap in his previous two fights. Just because the first two parts of your point are true it doesn't make your conclusion fact. Each fight has to be judged individually and someone can easily counter with the same flawed logic by saying Fury was back to being Fury after the two tune ups that's why he looked so good against DW. That being said you might have a case if Fury looks awful in his next fight or two. Then you now have some evidence to back your claim.
Well one guy got outboxed by easily the slickest and best pure boxer the Heavyweight division has seen in decades, the other guy got beat up and quit against a 25-1 underdog that people laughed at when he was named an opponent (not I). But even in losing, Wilder managed to keep most rounds close, salvage the event by dropping Fury twice, once by one of the most savage knockdowns seen in quite some time, and still managed to perform far better than one Wladimir Klitschko. All in all, Wilder has far less to be ashamed of... he gave it his all, showed decent stamina, a great chin, real heart, and never stopped trying to win, and almost pulled it off late. Joshua on the other hand got walked down, schooled, beaten up, dropped 4 times, had his heart forcibly ripped from his chest and and quit, Joshua doesn't even have a chance in this debate. He wins hands down. Not saying that Ruiz isn't great and doesn't deserve full credit for the win, he did all of that to AJ and earned that ****, just that getting a little bit of a gift against a ridiculously slick fighter, isn't really getting exposed. That's like saying Pacquaio got exposed by Mayweather, which is asinine.
Wilder for all his flaws has shown he can hang in there . That **** from AJ was bizarre it was like back to Wlad-level floppage
A fighter that got overpowered and knocked out vs A fighter that almost knocked out his opponent but ended up losing a clear decision(given a farce draw instead). Who looked worse guys?. Seriously!?.
i believe a lot of people are interpreting the whole thing wrong. i dont think aj has a particularly weak chin, but his defense of it is weak. just re-positioning his head when he fights will add enough protection to assimilate shots like the ones that hurt him. he has good enough speed, power, and skill to beat anyone in the world at any time. his stamina is very questionable, but him gassing had more to do with his system going on overdrive when he got dropped the first time. just look at his breathing right before he gets dropped, then 1 minute after getting dropped. his heartrate was going like he was on a full sprint from the fear, surprise, doubt, and knowledge that all this is unfolding with millions of people watching it right in front of them. you can see his eyes were fully focused and completely expressive of what he was witnessing completely aware. i dont think aj is a very smart guy, he is a fighter who works off repetition more than creativity. he isnt able to call on punches he knows how to throw, with the quickness and fluidity that other fighters can. prepare him correctly for the right fighter and he can beat anyone. if he can get his head right after this beatdown, he can possibly get his belts back... and keep them. this era of hw's, because of being so flawed, are creating an exciting fighting soup. it will be fun seeing whos standing when the dust settles.
I criticized the thread because you used the word exposed and that in itself is contradictory to what you say your intentions were. If you didn't mean it that way then why don't you correct yourself without calling people morons. You are only escalating the criticism.
You must be talking about yourself cause you the one whining about your feelings being hurt. All I talk is boxing. When you have to resort to name calling then it is you who are the moron.
