Who got the first $1 million purse?

Off the subect a bit but I remember watching a boxing show on tv back in the mid 80's. Jack Kid Berg was at ringside and Reg Gutteridge asked what he thought was the difference between boxing in his day and now. Jack said that they earn more money now. Reg asked him what was the most he earned for a fight to which jack replied 66000 dollars when I fought Canzoneri, don't know which fight he was talking about. Reg was visibly surprised and I remember thinking 66000 dollars in 1930-32, what would that be worth now, here's a man who was fighting 15-20 times a year.

 

It could be argued with hindsight, that Braddock got it for the Louis fight......

 

According to the ring record book 1967 he got 293,660.30

 

Just looking at this list here and Marciano's purses pale in comparison to previous champs.
