Both very good not much between them. Froch's is overrated though, he's been wobbled a good few times since stepping up to World Level.

froch chin is up there with the best the thing is with calzahe because of his footwork ect his didnt get tested as often froch hasnt got the best footwork headmovement or defence so to be honest good job he has a jaw like iron

The Hopkins Kd was clearly a flash. And the Jones Jr kd was a forearm!

And if you watch the tape again, balance didn't knock Froch down against Taylor.

    Hard to say.

Hopkins floored Calzaghe, but Froch got buzzed by Dirrell.

Jones floored Calzaghe, but Froch got floored by Taylor.

Other than that they both looked solid. Pretty much equal really.

Probably Froch. But that doesnt necessarily make him a better boxer. It would have been good to see the two fight.

  9. The Calzaghe knockdown against Hopkins doesn't really reflect how good his chin was. He was caught square on with a punch straight down the middle. The majority of fighters would have gone down from that.

    They both have fantastic chins.
One thing about Calzaghe was that in 46 fights he was never having to hang on to survive or doing the chicken dance.

Froch wouldnt have been put down by a 42 year old BHop or a shot jones or a Kabery Salem or even a Byron Mitchell.

But did by a shot Taylor who couldnt carry the weight to 168 which is why he's risking damaging himself back at middleweight now

    Well played.

Regardless both could take shots, Froch just can take more IMO.

Agreed. In fairness, Froch took a hell of a pounding from Taylor in that fight. Calzaghe had more ability to avoid it although was also willing to take shots to get his off, as well as being careless. Luckily both have had good recovery powers
