Of course Foreman had the better "chin". I am pointing out to doofus that Norton's chin isn't one i'd put at the level of making fun of. It held up against all but the hugest hitters. I'm more than prepared to get past the Garcia fight, a lot of people were stopped early career and came back later to have excellent durability. I'd say there's some intangibles there.

Here is the question of the day however -

If peak Foreman had continued boxing how would he have fared when it was becoming obvious he gassed quite early and was exhausted in the late rounds against Jimmy Young. Would he have learnt to pace himself as he did second career?

Would a Larry Holmes would have taken him into the late rounds and mugged him?

Second career Foreman paced himself well but he was never going to beat really good fighters. When Moorer won the title he begged to fight him because he knew he was the one guy he could possibly beat. Foreman had long since worked out Moorer did not like boxing and did not have his heart in the game. Before the match was even made he had correctly predicted if the going got really tough he would probably opt out.

Nortons issue was his poor mobility and stance. He just could not get out of the super punchers way. He would find himself with his back to the ropes and get koed. Hard to stand in front of Shavers, Foreman or ****ey as he did and NOT get koed.

His problem is that he "froze" against a few of them according to some well known sources. Choked if you like.

I don't reckon he could fight very well backing up. Not many could back him up. Ali and Holmes didn't, Foreman did.

I am telling you........Norton had poor lateral movement and the reason was his wide stance with his back foot "in the bucket". If you have poor lateral movement you end up being caught in a corner or on the ropes.

Well Eddie Futch told us he froze and mentioned not being able to fight backing up. I think i will stick with Eddie.
