Who had a better MW title reign: Hopkins or Golovkin?

3g he deserves repesct for making a respectable 7 proper defences so far. why use this disrepectful bumlovkin name??

His 7 defences7 is nowhere near hopkins 20/21 at all, but then 3g isnt an atg so why compare.g b? wait till he is finished and then compare.

Hopkins had 5 "respectable defenses"
4 of which were coming up from 140-147, and one domestic level MW in Eastman, whom Soliman made look a fool.

no. we are talking about recognised titles defences, not "what chitown thinks is a defence" title. If you want to start a "what chittown thinks is a defence" title then please do, but it will be unrecognised by the world just as IBO is.

3G has defended recognised titles from geale onwards (debatable whether he won the wba title with the geale fight or whether it was a defence, but it should constitute a "capture" not a defence since its the first time he fought for it).

This doesnt detract from the fact that 3G gets my respect for a string of 7 defences which is excellent in my opinion.

 

any Jacob's will annihilate hops entire mw career. lemmy and HELL Stevens would send hippy to icu, same against Eastman, r Allen and 95% of the rest.. they would be superstar mw during hops reign.

hell, lemmy would be very dangerous for hops himself as would certainly jacobs. i believe jacobs out points him clearly, better than the 4, max 6 round fighter that best him back to back at just about the age ggg is now.

This nostalgic bs has to stop. Those fighters were good top 10 fighters, but nothing special.

Stevens would have been a wrecking ball and Lemieux a super star if they had been around at Hopkins MW era. Murray would beat most of them and Monroe Jr. would be competitive as well. That said, Hopkins would have beaten them, just not as dominantly as GGG.

Plus Jacobs would be favored against all plus against Taylor for sure. He is bigger, hits at least as hard, has better stamina and definitely better ring IQ than Taylor.
