OK he was probably on the slide a bit when he fought Hatton but it only seemed to be after the fight that people started saying it.Myself included,my prediction was a cut up Hatton stopped by his corner in middle rounds, pretty one sided beating heading for a KO.

At that point Zoo would have started favourite against any fighter active at 140lbs in the world.

Doesn't mean he wasn't past it. The logic seems to be just because he knocked out Sharmba Mitchell he was still at his peak. Just not the case. I don't doubt he had power but the rest didn't look good.

Tsyzu's got to be one of the most overrated fighters of the last ten years. A skilled and very technically able fighter, no doubt, but not a hall of fame calibre fighter in my opinion and his record is a testament to that. His top 5 wins are relatively poor in comparison to other top fighters of his era, I mean the likes of Judah, Urkal, Mitchell, Hurtado etc... it's like 'count the glass jaws' :yep

Its still a massive win for Hatton.I totally agree that Naz has a better record but it does seem a bit unfair that when everyone pretty much expected Hatton to get beat and he won we all turn round and say "ah he was past it".
Same thing happened when Holyfield beat Tyson it went from"as if he had never been away"to "he peaked in the 80s"It may be speaking the truth in both cases but not many were saying it before the fights. It starts to sound a bit like backtracking on your prediction because you got it wrong.

Judah was not known as glass jawed before the Tsyzu fight.nor was Mitchell as I remember it.

I think what I'm saying is, even if Tszyu was at his best and Ricky was the underdog it still wouldn't be the incredible scalp most claim it to be.

What I find interesting is what our ideas about that fight would have been had Hatton been a young and upcoming American taking on Tszyu. Since we are incredibly pessimistic overall about our fighters chances when they step up to the very top. This is all pointless of course but its interesting, keeping in mind Tszyu/Phillips.

They both have poor chins though. Mitchell's is particularly bad, and it's not as though Judah's chin can be considered any better than average (it's poor IMO). Regardless of their reputations before the fight, both have bad chins, which has been proven in countless other instances. Therefore Tszyu knocking them out is not a particularly stellar achievement.

I don't think Judah's is too bad in honesty. He has a glass heart though. Seemed to just call it a day against Khan and Cotto more than anything.

Its a difficult one, some people big it up too much and others play it down too much.

He just looked well past it in the Khan fight but I agree he looks for a way out when it gets tough.Never my favorite fighter.
