Roy was the fastest fighter ever overall. Hand speed, foot speed and defensive reflexes being the 3 types.

For hand speed, I give serious consideration to those who could sit down on their punches in combination. I think he and Leonard are basically a wash in that regard, with prime Hector Camacho on the same level.

I think after a certain point it means practically nothing, timing will always prevail paired with IQ to answer the question I’ll say they’re tied almost, we can only move so quickly some are just blessed with the ability at higher weights see Ali in comparison to Jones it isn’t so great a difference.

Sugar Ray Leonard vs Andy Price is one the most impressive displays of handspeed I’ve seen

I would say Roy, but a bit undecided. Howard Davis jr faster than both.

Jones for me. SRL was extremely fast but RJJ was just freakishly quick.

The Hawk also had some incredibly fast hands with massive single punch power. Most didn’t even know they were about to be hit until they woke up minutes later.

SRL had some nice handspeed but I was always more impressed with RJJ's speed, especially given that he's bigger than SRL.

I would say Roy Jones had the faster single hand speed, Roy Jone's punches are faster, but Ray's combination punching rate is faster. Ray is like a machine gun where the fire rate is very very fast, but Roy is like a Ray Gun whose bullet reaches the speed of lightning but not a fast rate of fire.

Agreed, Roy was a monster. He was like a character created in a video game with maxed out stats in every single speed category. Fastest overall of all time across all weight classes.

Interesting that in an interview, Roy showed a lot of self awareness saying that if you compare boxers to certain animals, he'd be a cheetah. Not a lot of power or durability, but ludicrously fast. He had hand speed, foot speed, and reflexes. Leonard was no joke and had extremely fast hands firing off shots like a machine gun and had quick feet too, but Roy was faster and harder to hit in his prime.

Fluid combinations in absolute terms = SRL

Explosive, single punch speed from a p4p perspective = RJJ

I think the fact that we're comparing a SMW/LHW's speed to that of a WW shows just how fast Jones was.
