    Ray Robinson
Jack Dempsey, in close his hands were a blur..Witness, the last 2 or 3 punches that
kod Firpo in 2nd round, and a slower Dempsey dropping Tunney with 5 punches in the
"long count"...Fast, even in slow motion.
    Roberto Duran

Why not? He was only stopped once in over 70 fights.

Boxers with great chins don't get knocked out in one round by journeymen.

Neither great hand speed nor great one punch power, barring the odd occurence like the Curry KO.

Anyone can be stopped if they are hit in the right spot with good timing, especially if they didn't see the punch coming.

He did have great power. Knockout numbers drop when you constatly fight bigger opponents with quality. Look at Roberto Duran.

Jack Dempsey by all his peers was praised dor his great chin and
Recuperative powers...In over 70 fights his one ko "loss" was a probable dive to the veteran fireman jim Flynn in 1917...His divorced wife implied that was the case...At any rate Dempsey flattened Flynn one year later in one round...
Dempsey I think weighed 168 pounds for the first fight, and was 22 years old...All the old writers of his time described Dempsey as having a great chin, and so do I...
