It's really unfair to compare a legend to a big bellied buddha who hasn't fought 1/10 the caliber fighters Frazier did.
i know but it has spread from another discussion in the forum, i am arguing frazier has a much better chin. http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11663
Peter was down against twinkle toes McCline. I think that says about enough on the subject. Frazier only went down against absolute monster punchers.
Look at my previous post, on another thread some people said that frazier had a "second-tier" chin and that "no one sane will tell you that Frazier's chin is better than Peter's", which is incredibly disrespectful towards a legend like frazier.
Peter. He took hellacious bombs from a murderous puncher, wlad, for 12 rounds. did you see that left hook in the 12? he walked into a perfect left hook and the crazy SOB still didn't go down. he also shook his head after eating a right cross. This content is protected Frazier had a good chin but Foreman railroaded him twice without much resistance. i don't think he could he have taken that punishment against wlad for 12 rounds. im giving peter the benefit of the doubt in the mccline fight due to the eardrum injury. he showed his chin was rock solid against maskaev. Remember, these guys are 240+ dudes. less skilled doesn't mean less powerful. guys in the 70s were much smaller.
peter...any other heavyweight in history wuda hit the canvas vs Wlad in that fight....Foreman demolished frazier.
Smoking joe deff had the better chin he continued to get up dispite the horrid beating he was taking and he went toe to toe with ali who did peter take big shots from other than Klit and a smaller toney i mean big time hot him with good shots but is not a big hitter so smokin joe wins my vote by a long shot
Are you trying to tell me that the heavyweights of today are stronger than those in the 70's because of extra weight? i mean i didnt know eating burgers and cake meant you gained muscle. Oh yeah and foreman was the only the man to knock frazier out and is always considered one of the hardest hitters of all time.
