Who had/has the better chin Frazier or Peter?

Peter was wobbly all over the Klitschko fight. thats when he wasnt clubbing wlad in the back of the head.

Peters biggest wins have all been against people who were waaaaay out of their prime:

james toney was 38 and 39 respectively, in his two fights with peter. and the best thing anyone could say about peters performances in those fights were "hes improved"

Maskaev is 39 years old and has already been knocked out numerous times, a win over him says nothing.

the mccline fight is a prime example of why sam peter's chin is not granite. a flash knockdown would have been forgivable, it happens to the best. but mccline sent peter to the canvas THREE TIMES!! and lest we forget that mccline was 37 when he had this fight

Sam Peter sucks.

Joe Frazier fought much better opposition, was only knocked out by two of the greatest HW's of all time Ali and Foreman and won an Olympic Gold Medal.

ur getting too much into who was a better fighter. we are focusing on 1 aspect.

and u are getting your facts wrong. peter wasn't wobbled or hurt until 1:30 of the 12th round and then again at 2:10.

what other top punchers did Joe face besides Foreman and would u consider them on par with Wlad in terms of power?

Somewhat hard to say at this point. I admit I have some trouble imagining Joe standing up to an extended beating from Wlad, but I HIGHLY doubt Jameel McCline would ever have an inkling of hope of doing to Frazier what he did to Peter. It may be that Wlad just 'stuck' Peter and didn't go for his shots enough.

i woulnt say they were on par with wlad but they had a puch: jerry quarry and bob foster. after seeing who each fighter foght i dont know who had a better chin

This is a classic example of overrating past fighters. When you begin to discredit simple, obvious things such as physical traits and skill level.

Waldo has alot of flaws, but power and technique are not amongst them. He hits as hard as any powerpuncher in history. And he hits arguably harder than Big George hit. For a man his size he steps into his punches properly and gets that snap on his right hand. Also his left hook is no joke.

Alot of guys in the past would beat Waldo because of his stamina and his psyche. But guys who he could hurt? Forget about it. He cleans them out. Waldo would have smashed the daylights out of Ken Norton, for example. But he probably would lose to Ali, Holmes and Tyson. Foreman might get to him but he also had stamina problems so that's a closer fight.

If you took the group of today with the group of the 70s they'd all mesh together. The best of this era versus the best of that era. Some wins, some loses. But it's a simple fact of reality that the best of any era stand a chance in other eras, simply because cream rises to the top, **** doesn't. I don't care what year you are talking.

That isn't what you said. You said Waldo's power isn't in the same league as Foreman's which is nonsense on it's face.

 

McCline, as inexperienced as he is, does very well against smaller opponents. McCline likes to throw fast, digging shots inside and that's how he got Sammy. He bodied Sam off and threw a short uppercut inside. That sort of punch would have decked Fraizer. Remember how George knocked Fraizer out. Uppercuts. McCline has a good one.
