What are you guys talking about, this fight wasn't bad at all. That seventh round was pretty exciting. . . . .

I had Holy winning the nd fight hell of an effort on the part of the real deal ..LL won the first one by a mile the 2nd one it was Holy's ..There should have been a trilogy between the 2

Third fight would've been Lewis sticking almost exclusively to the jabbing game and forgetting about trying to knock Evander out, leading to the dullest of the three and another shut-out. Whenever Lewis stuck to jabbing, over both fights, he was the only guy in it.

So he'd do that for the third, we get a boring fight and Holy loses again. I don't think the appetite was there for Lewis or the viewing public for a third go-round. Even when Holy was competing for the WBA and IBF straps there was no public clamour for it.

I thought Holyfield won a close decision, as did quite a few of the press row journalists.

Lennox was the better fighter that night.

I've scored it a draw, I've found a way to score it to Evander, but on the whole, after taking it apart, analyzing each round, Lennox beat him.

Yes but they were in the minority and they, like you, were wrong

The score I had was 8-4 Lewis and if I tried to give Holyfield the benefit of every close round in the fight, I only get to 7-5 Lewis, so no way was it a draw or a Holyfield win.

    Quoted for truth.

First time I watched it, I tried to be as objective as I could and not favour Lewis in any way, since I'm a fan of his. I scored the fight 7-5 for Lewis that night.

I re-watched and re-scored the fight yesterday night, and I had it 8-4 for Lewis. In any case, you can't give a guy the round cause of one or two good power shots landed, when he's already eaten more than 10-15 punches in that particular round.

Agreed. When I scored it 7-5 Lewis I was watching the fight for the 3rd time and was purposely trying to watch it from a Holyfield fan perspective, meaning rounds which were close went to Holyfield. The problem was that there weren't that many close rounds. Most of them were easy to score. And truthfully I like both fighters so I could have certainly supported a Holyfield win if it was there to be justified, but it simply wasn't.

I think the judges over compensated because of the ridiculous scoring of the first fight, but I scored it a close win for Lewis.

I can see how a draw may have been given, but no way did Holyfield win!

This doesn't make sense. If you don't think Holyfield won, then how did the judges over compensate? By scoring it 8-4 instead of 7-5? Seems to me if it's that close you're into judgement territory not conspiracy, or biased, territory.

    Exactly.

Some people (probably Holyfield fans) get blinded by the fact that Evander gave a good effort and was nothing like the first fight (although sometimes in the fight he was), and they say Holy deserved the win. But a fight isn't scored based on effort, but based on punches landed.
