Who was the best one punch KO artist out of these great finishers? I know Louis and Mike were great at finishing fighters with combos, could they match Liston`s one punch KO power with his hook, I know Tyson knocked Tubbs out with a hook also, devastating!
Tyson, by a long way. He combined sickening raw power with explosive speed, savagery and accuracy. Just a devastating combination.
Come on Mark. We have basically all of Tyson's pro career available and only a fraction of the other guys.
As John state s ,not all of Louis and Liston's fight s are on tape ,so its something we can't really answer .
Well in truth there are not that many true one punch knockouts on any fighters resume, even great punchers like these. I suspect the answers Tyson though.
Oh yes, sorry, but some guys on here have some serious facts about old fighters and apart from the names listed above by VVMM I don`t feel Tyson had that many one punch KO`s.
1-Because its harder to knockout heavier men 2-"1-punch ko" is a vague concept anyway. Technically, unless you literally knock them out with 1 punch and didnt land anything prior, its not a 1 punch ko. Given that, if someone has an actual 1 punch ko over a ranked opponent or a top 20 guy that is incredibly impressive. Having a highlight reel of kos over guys with records of 1-8-4 isnt particularly noteworthy if the fighter is leagues ahead of them in skill and technique.
