I think Hearns had more one punch power while Golovkin's shots are more consistently hard.

Hearns proven against better guys, although his power did decline as he went up the ladder.

I still say he wins for the Duran knockout alone.

    Hearns was an explosive puncher.

Hearns more explosive. GGG more thudding. GGG's jab probably hurts more than Hearns jab. Hearns straight right hand more likely to put a man to sleep though.

GGG p4p had Foreman power. Hearn's P4P had Tyson power.

There are thudding monster punchers in the history of boxing: foreman, liston, ggg, beterbiev, kovalev, shavers, vitali for example

And then there are explosive monster punchers: Naz, wilder, tyson, rjj, hearns, Haye

And then there is the very limited breach of both: inoue, wlad, gassiev, tank, julian jackson, lemieux

Different types of power and dilivery systems. Hearns was tall extremely fast and explosive. He overwhelmings apponents with flurries then walks them into a perfectly leveraged right hand. Hearns right hand was a 9.5 or10 out of 10 when delivered perfectly, but his other punches were hard, but not as hard as the right. Golovkin is slower, but still an elite boxer with a granite chin. Every punch is hard and heavy, and when he walks you into something big, it also is a 10 out of 10, an example of that is vs Rolls and Martirosyan, otherwise he is consistently landing 9 out of 10, wearing his apponent down with thudding sledgehammer shots. Brandon Adams who sparred Golovkin said that when he crouched low against Golovkin, he got hit on top of his head by the corkscrew shot. Adams said he never wanted to crouch again because he thought that Golovkins fists might brake through the top of his skull. Canelo recently acknowledged that Golovkin hits hard and is a 9 out of 10 puncher, regardless of what weight he fights at. That's coming from someone who won titles up to light heavyweight, who fought kovalev and Bivol. I would say over all Golovkin. But again different types of power and delivery system.

Hearns was much bigger than Duran.

    Canelo is bigger than GGG.

Hearns had the one punch KO power while GGG would break you down after an accumulation of hard punches.
