Holyfield had more variety and well round skills imo. He was better at more ranges than Holmes was. I rate Holmes has having better ring IQ and obviously a better jab, but Holy was certainly more well rounded.

Agree. Holyfield was more rounded; Holmes was smarter in using what he had and his party trick was that snapping jab that he really exploited to the max.

It's a fair position to take. Holyfield could do a bit of everything.

That's ONE skill he did better but what about the other ones like left hooks, right hands ,body punching and ability to stay at range and counter, combo punching ? Theres NO way Holmes has Holyfields skills ,he could dictate fights better through a long jab and was smarter but if were talking more skilled ? Its Holyfield and anyone should see that.

Holmes. One of the best jabs in his weight class, outstanding recuperative powers, decent power in his right hand, terrific longevity. Holyfield is an all time great, but I just consider Holmes a touch more well rounded.
Now, when it comes to who I enjoy watching more, it's Holyfield all day.

Holmes jab would be the stand out single attribute but Holyfield was more rounded. He was at least good in just about every department.

Agreed my friend. To me it's pretty clear that Holyfield was more well rounded, and thus had better overall skills. If the question was, who had one skill that was clearly better than the other, then maybe it would be Holmes and his jab. Then again, I could cite Holy going to the body, which he didn't vastly more, and better than Holmes. Holy for my money

Holyfield may have had more but Holmes had more better ones and would school Evander over the distance ... Larry did very well for most of their fight when he was 42 ..
