Who had read "King of the Canebrakes" about the boxer Young Stribling?

    Check him out on Boxrec. Great Book about a guy who started out boxing people at his parents carnival all over the country at age 5. As a lightheavy, he ended up fighting Max Schmelling and almost won. He had well over 200 professional fights. He died on a motorcycle on the way home from the hospital just after the birth of his child. He is in the Georgia Boxing Hall of Fame along with Holyfield.:good

    I'm disappointed at how many people viewed this but no posts. Surely, someone must have heard of Young Stribling????!!!!

    I know who Stribling was but have never read the book. You should post this in the classic forum, you will get much more replies there as I doubt many in the general know about Stribling.
