Comes down to either Hagler, who fought one of the hardest hitting middleweights of all time in Eugene Hart and also fought world class punchers like Tony Sibson, Bennie Briscoe, Roldan and Hearns, or the weight climbing specialty and 20+ year career of James Toney.

I know some think Eubank has one of the greatest chins of all time. I disagree, respectfully. He didn't have Hagler's prestige of never going down despite facing noted punchers nor did he climb in height as high as Toney did.

Eubank did well to stand up to Benn but how many times was he knocked down in other fights?

I'm not sure of the exact figure, but how many times you're knocked down in your career isn't indicative of how durable you are, necessarily.

Benn was by far the best puncher he faced in the two weight divisions he fought in during his prime. Benn also rattled him badly and had him hurt. Take that as you will.

I am going with Toney he edges Hagler because of the risk he assumed moving up in weight and still staying with world class competition and punchers

Hagler has a million and one punchers on his resume. Took Hearn's best sunday punch and kept coming forward with the heat. Wouldn't have been knocked down by Roy Jones Jr either.

I voted for Toney due to him fighting guys like Samuel Peter but Hagler did have an iron jaw.

Reggie Johnson is an EXTREMELY underrated fighter. The guy could do just about anything in the ring and was a southpaw as well.

Agreed. Halger declined move up to light heavyweight. No way he's moving up 40+ pounds to meet Peter.

Toney was lazy and put on some weight as his career progressed, but the guy flat out could take a punch.

Maybe. Lets look at another angle tho - Hagler would not have been dropped by Reggie Johnson!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not a chance!!!!!!!

    At middleweight -

    Hagler>Toney.

P4P you have to give Toney the benefit as he did step up and take on some huge men. He's proven.

    Pretty sure that's fair ;)
