    But not at 160 lbs,

...and he went down against Reggie Johnson, who did not hit as hard as Mugabi and Hearns.

I picked Hagler just based on how they absorbed a punch at 160 lbs. Since we don't know how Hagler would have absorbed punihment at another weight, we can only compare how each absorbed punishment at the same weight. I prefer to use this method than to say, "Well, Toney absorbed shots from guys at higher weights." That may be relevant if Hagler had risen in weight and showed that he couldn't absorb the shots of the guys at higher weights.

I agree what you say and voted for Hagler. Look, Toney faced bigger punchers at the higher weight and his chin is more proven. However, that does not mean his chin was necessarely better.

I'd probably have to go with Toney. He just had a lot of chin(s).

EDIT: I think I'm going to have to go with Hagler, instead. Some perfectly reasonable arguments have been made for why Toney's exploits at the higher weights should not takeaway from the toughness Hagler showed at 160.

Yes . JT relied on sparring for fitness instead of mainly gym work. And like Ali took
unnecessary risks. JT also went the distance with future WBA HW champ Lucas
Browne ( stripped for cheating ). Lucas Browne is fighting Dillian Whyte in March and
is a noted heavy hitter with 22 of his 25 wins coming by ko.
