    Greb!
P4p the greatest for me and only one who ducked no one.

    Greb v Rojas.

He was hurt in two of the rounds, 3rd and 9th but stayed on his feet, weathered the storm and drove Rojas back by the end of each exchange.

    Extraordinary stuff tbh.

I don't know who's was best but only one consistently fought the best much bigger men men who would be considered the best light heavyweight and cruiser weights of his day ...

Monzon's chin wasn't even good. But the vulnerability was hidden by multiple layers of sociopathy.

I say Marvin although there is little separating he and Monzon in this regard. Even when MMH was a bit hesitant in big fights, his chin was never in doubt. If they had gone up in weight I would lean towards Monzon as I think he could be effective and Hagler didn’t have the height or frame for 168, let alone 175.
Greb I have never seen fight, just that ridiculous training clip. I have my own opinion about how some of these more ephemeral greats who aren’t on film would probably be. Likely great, but with a few flaws that were not known, or at least not highlighted in the write ups. Just like every other fighter. So no better than my picks. Your mileage may vary.
As great as middle weight is, I consider myself lucky to have had 2 of the gents that I would place in the top 5 in my lifetime. That’s pretty cool.

Juan Roldan decked Marvelous Marvin Hagler, the ref called it when they fought, the ref is the official in the ring, Monzon also got decked by Rodrigo Valdes in his last title defense in July 1977 but won and retired with the title after 14 title defenses, that was the only knockdown registered against him in a career that began in Feb 1963. But fair is fair, I still say Greb wins the battle of better chin. The one knock on Hagler is that he could be cut as in the first Vito Antuofermo title bout on Nov 30 1979, also he could get lazy, he suffered a nasty gash against Hearns even though he came out a winner of that April 15 1985 short but sweet bout.

Monzon vs Valdez II (see clip below).

Go to 6:10. Upon the KD, commentator Reg Gutteridge states that it was the first time that Monzon had hit the canvas since 1963.

As a 16 month pro Monzon was apparently dropped 3 times by Felipe Cambeiro in June 1964 - this may be the fight Gutteridge was referring to when he referenced the year as 1963.

Hagler slipped against Roldan. Official or not, it was not a legit KD.

Ali was officially ruled to have been KD’d by Chuck Wepner also - of course the ref’s bad call in that instance didn’t make it a legit KD either.

I’d order them as Greb, Hagler and Monzon.

    Monzon vs Valdez II. H/Ls.

It’s almost comical how fast Monzon got up from that perfectly timed Valdez right hand. Monzon’s recovery was something else.

Totally agree. And Valdez had already thumped Monzon with several big punches prior to the perfect right hand KD punch.

The way Carlos jumped back up so quickly and apparently okay had to have taken a little bit of Valdez’s heart/confidence away.

All in all, it was actually a terrific fight.

Wepner knocked Ali down according to the ref as well but we know that was baloney. It's akin to the jury being the authority in a trail, we know they make plenty of mistakes just like refs do. Common sense is our friend.

I love Muhammad Ali, but still a knockdown, I am not a licensed boxing official the knockdown stands jut like Hagler's knockdown by Roldan, I do not protect anyone, not even my favorites.

Although I am not a boxing expert Pug, I did read up on Carlos Monzon's autobiography, he only suffered a knockdown against Rodrigo Valdes on July 30 1977 in Monte Carlo. I watched that bout live on the CBS Sports Spectacular. Sorry, the Hagler knockdown still stands. Who retired as World Middleweight Champion Buddy? Next thing I hear from Hagler fans that Sugar Ray Leonard did not beat Marvelous Marvin Hagler, nah, it was everybody's imagination gone wild, the officials were smoking something, Wild Wood Weed. Ha Ha. Some fans cannot accept the truth of their favorites, I do not protect even my favorites, if something occurred in the ring, it occurred, I am not a boxing official to rule on anything but a fan. Monzon's knockdown by Valdes stands, so does Hagler's knockdown by Roldan, did he slip on a banana peel when the ref had his back turned WWE style? Ha Ha Ha. Harry Greb had the best chin and Leonard beat Hagler. Was Rex Guthridge at the 1963 Monzon vs Cambiero bout?

Hagler's chin literally broke the Hitman's right hand.

When a guy takes a perfect nuke to the chin from arguably the biggest hitter in the division, and the only fallout is the dude's hand breaking... just lol.

Hagler had an absolutely granite chin. One of the best in the history of the sport.

I'd rank Toney's chin over Greb's one and confidently. Disgracefully out of shape 37 y.o. former middleweight Toney never ever blinked to the best punches of Hasim Rahman who knocker out giant Lennox Lewis cold with a single shot. Toney probably had the best P4P chin in boxing history
